The prettiest flower in the garden
A magnificent shade of pink
The envy of all the female roses
From the males always a smile and a wink
Her petals were perfection, full and soft as silk
She was without doubt the most beautiful Rose
Until a mighty storm hit one night
Blowing her petals away…..leaving her stark naked and exposed!

It draws near to God
In union with believers
In union with His truth
Owning His promises
Of things yet future
Happening as He said
Its use is rewarded
Giving proper viewpoint
Knowledge and insight
Revealing His will
Creating a closer walk
The key to pleasing God
Looking to inherit
His future deliverance
With a stark naked oath
Never turning back
Never abandoning hope
Which death cannot thwart
Shuns "Pharaoh's command"
Accepting present peril
To fulfill God's will
Enduring unto death
God's guide to the other side
Walks with the Faithful
Its irony is holding on
To what flesh rejects
A crutch for the foolish
Relying on mere hearsay
Until God's contest comes
Then faith in Him is clutch

They’re stark naked from their heads to their toes
Our aspiring emperors wear no clothes
Why can’t we see that
They look like two rats
Perhaps we’re too busy holding our nose

DISCOMBOBULATION
The clock on the bedside table
Says two forty-five in the morning..
Hours of precious sleep time yet
Until the day is dawning.
I shine the torch around the room;
The battery’s running low
And nothing feels familiar
In the flickering, eerie glow.
Somebody’s moved the wardrobe,
And whose is that nursing chair?
I’m sure, before I fell asleep,
That wasn’t standing there.
Perhaps I’m not awake at all
And this is just a dream.
Later on I’ll discover
That things are not what they seem.
But now I need the bathroom;
It’s a sign of getting old.
And so I push the covers back,
Shivering with the cold.
I hastily don my slippers
And, increasingly frustrated,
Try to locate the en-suite.
I’m discombobulated
Feeling my way by torchlight,
I need to get there fast.
Then suddenly, to my relief,
I find the door at last.
Gratefully I step inside
And firmly close the door.
And here I am, stark naked
In the hotel corridor

sheltered, away and hidden
my wooden dome, it creaks and shakes
the cold rain turns into soft glitter
and gently lands right on my face
deep in my mind, my teacher’s echo:
“what is the color that shines bright?”
some would say red, some would say yellow
but i thought snowy, pearly white
and in the morning i would wake up
to clouds that lowered to the ground
if i could run out there stark naked
and glide on roads of tiny towns
i missed the the crisp scent in the air
i longed for rosy cheeks and nose
the way it settled in my hair
heaven had never felt this close

Stark naked, Sue walks down her stairs
Huge boobies dangle like ripe pears
Sue’s ‘hair’ stylist was lax
With her Brazilian wax
Short curlies remain, but who cares!

The very air is crunchy
As leaves rustling
Beneath heavy feet
Pondering the shades
Scarlet, gold and tangerine
Inspirational hues
Breathing prayers through
The promises of
October – autumn truths
Bared on the souls
Of mountain crests
Who praise the Creator
Unfolding their muse
With wise and warm strokes
Of a laughing rain
Showering the thirsty hearts
Who pray for the sunshine
Kissing, caressing
Falling upon the naked wishes
Of those who listen
To hopes and dreams, psalms
Full of light and love
Life in blushing rays of wisdom
Humbling even the trees
Whose limbs, stark naked
With need for the repose taken
In the autumn slumber
When everywhere there is
Faith that dispels all doubt
A light that never goes out
This is trust from a soul
Who knows that grace abides
On the eventide of Autumn

Rodin’s thinker felt deeply misrepresented in his pose
he had been simply doing his business in privacy but
paparazzis had caught him seemingly sitting on a rock
nothing on his mind but having a pee after a night out
too much beer with his mates in the pub and all that
was on his mind was whether there were painkillers
in the vanity unit to soothe his nauseating hangover
twitter went mad and the tabloids fronted his image
raised him onto the dubious pedestal of iconic status
attested him with clarity of thought and contemplation
he had only been looking at the bathroom mirror and
counting tiles and toothpaste stains in the marble sink
did not mind so much that he was nude in portraits
they painted because the truth must be stark naked
and he was not one to falsify events and their cause
but taking his ablutions out of context made him
feel shame rather than reason for he was abused
in nature’s call and his wife might object but he would
never again sit down on the loo when having a tinkle

time placed beyond
stairways star-wars
galactic leverage
Universe betrayed
stream of consciousness
tipping an ice berg
pick axe in hand
frostbitten soul
whose kingdom came
poker in the manger
stark naked emperors
food banks in loin cloths
hallowed be the halo
candles burn dry twigs
just a bloody night mare
and no stallion in sight
stellar state of affairs
spare one thought only
wrapped in a comet
bursting the bubble
circus clown’s sorrow
safety net in tears
droplets of madness
cot death for the Lord

Here,
right now,
arrow spears,
testing our fears,
of life we hold dear.
The possibility
of slow death fatality,
question posed is direct and blunt:
are we yet in blissful calm tranquil
or shrouded in fear of oblivion?
Vicarious knowing of no avail,
at moment of final appraisal.
Our core determines how we sway.
Thought constructs all fall away.
We stand thus stark naked.
We cannot fake it.
What will it be,
bliss or fear?
Earth life
tests!

Gloated with its existence, Lie mocked Truth one day;
Folks yearn me more, despite your heavy weigh.
You are stark naked and I am well dressed;
I have the power to tarnish whatever facts stated.
Spreading faster than you, is my identity;
You are the deserted road, where no one found serenity.
Truth smiled and uttered, I am easy to remember;
I may hurt for a while, You blemish forever.
However petty you are, but lie remains a lie;
Truth always prevails, no matter how hard you try.

Of what use are my words for you
If they fail to reach your ears
My poetry is my refuge
Now you’re turning into one too
Why do you offer familiarity?
Aren't you sensible of what it can do to me?
Thy guilt was stark naked behind those smiles
Who are you trying to impress, my love?
Please return me that letter of mine
Which was treasured by your eyes
Read by your lips
Touched by your hands
And perfumed by thy contact
Tapping on my back to get my attention
Your hands advancing for my brush
Whom shall I blame for the delicacy of this heart?
You must muster second thoughts
Before attacking my realms (again)

Climate warming is bunkum some say.
But I wonder what happened one day,
when a stark naked horde
swam and splashed in a fjord
in mid-winter in balmy Norway.

Beholding a stark-naked Kiwi
Prince Charles was bewildered: "What see we?”
His butler replied,
all blushed and wide-eyed:
“Your highness, a Maori… wee-wee."
