Our mother is waiting

she’s soft as silk,
fragile as glass…
will she survive?

ah! fear not—
she had given birth
to a thousand, thousand men
who have empathy instead of blood,
courage to rise from mud.

dear gods!
we tried, we prayed…
yet no mercy received,
no shelters are served.

yes, we are struggling,
sinking in this cursed water,
drowning in the deepest gutters.
yes, our women are crying,
but no one falls apart.
their tears wipe the dirt
this storm brought to the hearts.

no one will fall,
though we all suffer.
no one will tremble at death,
no begging they mutter.

we rise, slowly but strong,
holding hands,
of both weak and bold,
for our mother…
our mother.

she is waiting.

Jeans of Sri Lanka

There’s a pair
Of jeans
That he can’t
Bring himself
To wash
Because the jeans
Still smell
Like Sri Lanka,
The sand
And the ocean,
The blood
And the sweat
And the tears,
The beauty
Of it all.

Jet Lag

The post-trip recovery
From Sri Lanka situation,
The jet lag situation,
Is not
What it
Once was
Because his body
Is not
What it
Once was.

Happy Place

Sri Lanka is
His happy place
And he
Loves Colombo,
It’s great
To be back.

Dawn Sri Lanka blues

Jaded holiday in Frisco ,
Where Paul Getty lost his marbles harbour

For a old dog tawg
Rumble a chick

Banjo medicine and black madness
Eager paws or void in of contempt

I can't roll dice at Coney island
Without a slow snow cone

Program for Rita ford
Or a lengthy draught of carpenter wood

Happy To Live In Sri Lanka

Previously happy to live in Sri Lanka,
Doing well as mover of tanker,
Even as Sri Lankan roads got busier
And traffic of the rush hours not easier…

Then, he was fatter and franker
But living far political demand;
Also, after Riches did he hanker
But more after a chance to command…

So, he had to bounce back to Nigeria
But in her politics at the rear:
Always colliding with hateful ridicule,
A bit invisible like molecule!

He needed not have left Sri Lanka
Where joy had been a sure banker…
It’s been a Joyless Lip-Biting Ben
Often recreating Sri Lanka of then.

Sri Lanka World Up

The World machinery is stopped
To restart waiting for a long gap
Where to start where to go on map?
This poem comes from Lankans hill top
Adam came from Heaven,World to start up

Premium Member Sri Lanka Blasts

Catholic churches were attacked in Sri Lanka
Many of our brothers and sisters were massacred
By
Fanaticism and ignorance
In
The name of their God
But
When would we understand that there is only one God,
And that is the God of love,
That we all are his children,
All embraced by Him the same,
None being loved less than the other,
None being put higher or lower than the other?

Those who committed this abominable crime,
Thinking they will be rewarded with a place in paradise,
They soon will find out that their miserable souls
Will be condemned to eternal damnation
For committing:
Patricide,
Matricide and
Fratricide!

I Love My Country Sri Lanka

I love my country Sri Lanka.......

On top of the mountain, God sits on Adam's peak
Throwing his heavenly blessings to our nation
Blessed our country known to the
world as the Garden of Eden.
When our mountains are covered with beautiful flora
When the fauna walk freely in our jungles
When our valleys are flowing with water from heaven
When our ocean is picturesque blue
When the nature hugs our nation
Blessed our country known to the
world as the paradise on earth
When our people show their love and faith
When our people are gentle and kind
Blessed our country known to the
world for her hospitality.
Surrounded by all of these blessings
God wants us to love one another
and live happily together surrounded by faith and trust.
Let us obey his words and build our country
as a beautiful Sri Lanka
