A thousand different notes one hears
from the flute-like whistle of the thrush
to the chirp and twitter of the sparrow,
blended all into a single song;
Earth's welcoming of spring.
Sat there,
basking in the sunlight,
(the first in several weeks)
Spring's weather,
a hint of the summer to come.
Around us,
the wind whispers gently,
"Rejoice humble grass, it's time to break free"
and trees hurriedly recreate their leaves.
Spring is a time of freedom and growth,
as the horse which slept in its stable
hemmed in by the bitter cold
now roams the fields, completely free.
Amidst it,
dove white lilies and orange tulips thrive.
Nurtured by the glorious spring showers,
they sway and dance in its breeze.
Layered in scarves, gloves and a coat,
winter's icy embrace locking up her body,
nevertheless, under the frosted willow tree,
her eyes carry hope of that time
a mere three months beyond January.
milder days and nights
more frequent pollen showers
newly built bird nests
april showers
the thought of winter
washed away
In the ebb and flow of feelings that is the cycle of my life
I seem to be caught in the spring of my emotions
while winter stalls refusing to take its leave.
Like a bad virus insisting to overstay its welcome
tenacious snow lingers under unrelenting skies of grey
while nippy winds bring rebel clouds and showers.
Entangled in that indecisive in-between of cold and warmth
I’m caught in a no-man’s-land of chrysalid and growth
that ominous period of longing avidly for better climes.
Forever craving the sunshine that would feed my soul
I’m reduced to a withered rosebud desperate for any ray of sun
so I can come to life and feel invigorated.
And so it goes as I ride this roller coaster
of the weather of my emotions.

As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true
Two papyrus thin wings of buttercup yellow
she flutters in and out of my garden Heart
it is freedom she brings, cares not for bellow
I crave to join her, finish my art, baking tarts
Her proboscis deliciously delicately long
into a lonely red rose she inserts it so precise
inspiring me to dance to a super Spring song
her wings like my breath dissipates every vice
Oh Butterfly ! Take me with on your fanciful flight
daisy fields, mountain streams to desired Eden
let’s go where no cares air, just serene sights
fairies composing tunes for whispering women !

Mystic Rose Roses’ two couplets
“As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
Anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
Flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true
on true”
My two couplets
She dips where honeysuckle clings and rain has kissed the loam
Her wings cast iridescent light that drift like silver foam
The world beneath her arches close, seduced by wing and gleam
Each petal shivers in her wake, as if touched by a stream.
"As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true"

Defoliated trees bloom with emerald life after their verdant resurrection
in the fervent flow of zephyr with floral fragrance she finds her direction
The floral canvas absorbs sequins of sunburst colors in mesmeric meadow
where she flitters allured to the aromatic arena of the springtime show
As a winged flower she drifts in the wind, whispering the tune of luring aria
in the drizzle of delightful shower with the cadence of the dulcet ballerina
Life breaks in the wake of hard domino effect while in debris my dreams lie
her dancing rhythm ripples rapture in me as I fly on the wings of the butterfly
As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true
Luminous wings in radiant beams
capture a dream in vibrant streams
Delicate beauty in graceful flow
an elusive display tied with a bow
Delicate and dainty a slight breeze concieves
mingling with the wind to dance with the leaves
Oh sweet butterfly my springtime flower
display your brilliant colors in a sunlit shower
Collaboration Content
April brings more than
showers
Spring sometimes
cowers
To Winter after
flowers
They jump from the earth
silent as the sun’s rising
announcing spring’s new birth
lingering delights, baptizing
Souls who need their smiles
to restore the music’s words
knowing, after so many trials
sun’s breath sings to the birds
They tell of a melancholic tale
preaching to hearts, so still
knowing their love will not fail
as the night’s stars quietly spill
Fading from the green meadows
playing gently on the seas
singing of the One who arose
to reveal love found on my knees
They light up the hearts who melt
when their laughter is poured out,
restoring the hearts who have felt
all the love that ends every doubt
Blessings, these little flowers are
daffodils, jonquils, March’s hope
blowing in the breeze, like a star
revealing ways spring can cope
Never stop seeing the wonder
that comes to life in God’s flowers
while we might hear the thunder
we can still feel the joy in His showers
The mild breezes
Fragrances from the natural aromas of flowers
Romance stirring up the warmth
The enjoyment of the outdoors
Beauty of Flower colors
Distinction at its best
Dazzling the senses
Refreshing thoughts
Conversations one to one another
Coming out of hibernations
The feeling in what spring brings
April Showers May flowers
Spring step out
The sun that shines
Togetherness all genuine
Spring forth
Perfect time to spring out
The Spring season applause as people move about.
The fresh blue sky
A sign that
Perhaps the
Spring has sprung.
Sharp cool passing showers
Confirmation of the fact
That YES
Spring has begun.
In
spring sky
clouds sail slow
in formless fleet.
On its silk shadow
dew-crowned garden showers
plush sheen on bloomed rose petals.
Fine fragrance floats in breeze bracing
lush jade calm canvas of meadow’s wave,
butterflies weave joy for my spellbound heart.
More than any master,
More than any preacher,
You are the best guide!
Yes! You are the best teacher.
Any excess of summer,
And you cool down as rain.
When the showers get too much,
The clouds drift...you peek again.
When the chilly nights of winter,
Get tough to bear, far too long,
Your warm comfort makes us smile,
In the warmth of spring, we can sing a song.
Like a master of trapeze,
You are all about balance.
You teach us control, harmony,
Yes... you always make sense.
Day and night,
Darkness and light,
There's never disagreement,
There's never a fight!
In you, great teacher,
All can exist side by side,
Desert, Valley, Hills and Plain,
Each gets its place of pride.
For the mind that understands,
For the eyes that truly see,
Your lessons are invaluable,
And they all come for free!
You are the best teacher,
That's what we can say.
We know you have done it forever,
And you will go on showing the way...
Spring Sonnet
The microscopic lifeforms in my soil
Sense the rising in degrees Celsius.
Old Summer’s red wiggler worms now uncoil,
While hungry birds look down most odious.
Most showers now done, the weeds envelope
The surviving herbs, flowers, plus veggies.
Like the weeds, slimy molluscs interlope,
Quitting the shadows with their progenies.
Scooping composted chicken & steer
Into my orange Home Depot buckets;
Troweling in costly mineral grit -
Then turning the soils, crushing silt nuggets.
The difficult tasks done, seeds in the grounds –
October pumpkins will surround the mounds.
