The Spook

Cold was the night when I sat down
The dimples on my cheeks were brown
When they're supposed to be bright red
The fear had gone into my head
I began scribbling with my pen
Words flowed out from that inky den
And danced with the flickering candlelight
Like Goosebumps tales told at night
Indeed it was a gruesome sight
Alone with ghouls of fear and fright
Stories were spewed and told again
Of wars, trust, betrayal and pain
of dragons, knights and leprechauns
And Chimera dining with djinns and fauns
Where Wellington cried Waterloo
And China hugged the Spanish flu
I was caught unaware that time flies
Caught in Anansi's web of endless lies
And bestial shapes spurned the papyrus
Groveled in oil exhumed from Cyprus
As Bucephalus crowned Archimedes
With the golden armor of Diomedes
The LNM stilled the North seas
The West, under siege from zom- bees
And the myth and magic of the ethereal
That mad, mad world, unseen for real
All came as one in blatant prose
There time and my pen both froze
The cosmos had let and closed the deal
The life surged to the inky seal
I felt a sudden chill down m'spine
Just at my door was Frank-in-stein

Spook Country

Supernatural thriller
Most of the time in this.
Life we were asleep.
They are nothing but ghosts now.
Haunted by past memory.
Most of the time.
English life was spooky.
Occasionally normal.
I didn't paint a self -portrait.
I didn't sign my artwork.

Routine Dull life
Adult life not exist.
Does it illusion
Isn't it.
Despite the physicality
Of it all.
Wasn't the devil perfect
In England.

Look Sally! Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins;
I will pick one for me and you pick one for you
They will look spooky dressed like small orange munckins.

Masked by the moon, Snoopy jumps out with a loud "BOO!"

Spook An Old Kook

Spook An Old Kook

Like horse Trump shouldn't try to spook;
Just an old geezer and an awkward kook;
You call him dumb;
Testy does become;
He becomes harsh if you were to rebuke.

"Oh Oh what a damn clumsy job it must be"
He showed me his creepy rear
And cerebral hemisphere
" Pinch pennies" that he said, and began to pee.

My Wife Is Either a Spook Or a Goat

My wife is either a spook or a goat

I wish She must fall in a Texas moat

                                                In our wedding night

                                                   I had a frost bite

And she made love to my bright yellow coat

My Wife Was a Spook

My wife was a spook ,she lived in a secret little nook
She spooked all the old houses of Thomasville Oak Brook
She loved to cook crispy batwings
And tied me to her apron strings
One night in frenzy of love she ate me up with a fluke

Premium Member Spook

You are spooked, but you are also doing the spooking.
You talk about hearts,
And who can be forgiven.
Or you stand,
Or sit and wonder
On a floating platform believing
You are creating things,
And maybe you are,
Maybe you are always creating things.
But what is it that you are creating?

Spook

Tackling the afterlife
What a goolish party to crash.
What do they do up there?
On days where ghosts might dash

The Traffic jam must be intense
Costumes flying to and fro.
Do they head to earth to watch
Us earthlings make a show?

I haven't got a thing to wear
Suitable for this fine occasion.
Angels laugh and God says "HEY!"
It won't take much persuasion.

Just dress as you do in the clouds
But add a bit of spark.
If you leave the sky to fly
You don't want to scare or bark.

Pick up the giggle water
Champagne works the best.
Dance to Michael's Thriller
That will put your mind to rest.

No peace or rest for the wicked
This day was made for us.
We are Halloween by definition
Tonight we can scare and cuss!

The Spook

All at once,
An image does appear,
Of a time long past,
But faces that were once near.
The face had once been held dear
Casting a spell on the mind,
Now the face is gone,
And the fear is all that’s left behind.

Now in the mind is left a hole,
An incredible weight to bind the soul,
The face takes on a more frightening form,
And to life a more sinister role.
In crowds with others,
even in the mall,
And at every turning of the head,
It stares back at you from just down the hall.

The face consumes the heart,
Drawn long and pale,
Dark circles surround the eyes and mouth,
Blood drips from the nails,
Now an image which began as innocent,
Has become deified,
Life cannot go on as normal,
When the face tears life apart.
