Spawning Poems

My Neighbourhood

Frozen streams are calm incidents of winter
When lean, broken stems seem dead and gone
But the way things stand now in the nearby minster,
Canticles accompanied by spawning candles are worn.

Premium MemberAll My Inspiration

Forced to visit all my fear -
In pursuit of inspiration.
But through collection all I hear -
Is I'm not long for aspiration.

Through careful words and softened voice -
I could reduce evaporation.
But do I trust subconscious choice -
With all my liberation?

That argument could give me face -
To point that accusation.
If it flees I'll have to chase -
And risk dissociation.

In looking for some clarity -
I could brave that isolation,
Gamble with fate for sanity -
And a chance at satiation.

Though with these words I must confess -
It's hardly a vacation.
I'm spawning thoughts that can't digress -
Months after observation.

In the end my mind will flood -
These words are precipitation.
My hope is it can wash the blood -
From my mental amputation.

Life and Death with Strangers

Mother, father, you are the strange migrants who arrived before me, I see you moving away, for no home anywhere could complete us all, and strangely, now I am before you. Sister, brother, child, we never did know which way to go,
or from where we arrived from. A family history is no more nor less than a parable told to a raindrop, a poem written by the flashing rays of the sun. Familial lineage but a carnival carrousel spun by spawning glimmers in a hermit's cave.

As for lovers, they die before our eyes and are born again as other strangers. Love is the forever unknowable, and yet it knows us, it is the stranger who knows the stranger. Love holds a mirror up to an ever-changing sky and demands that our view in that looking glass stay the same, even though that sameness, is but a Mayfly in a thunderstorm. Eventually, eyes must quicken to see beyond the lightning bugs, humans have to get along with our alienness, even as we are born to quickly die before our eyes.

Watch how you go

Watch how you go
As you rush home from work
The speed of your ride
Spawning dangers to lurk

The curve of the bend
As you screech to your goal
The curse of Diablo
Is taking its toll

The bus up ahead
Holding valuable souls
Has stopped at the sign
To offload them home

Your thinking is quick
The braking is harsh
The vehicle careers
Into the slow cooling marsh

Nothing To Catch Someday

The price of over fishing
Is illegal and bad to nature
Fishing with net and drag net
Is very harmful to corals and sea beds form
Fishing on spawning season is prohibited by law
Fishing too much for business is greediness
Fishing endangered species is self sanctimonious
Over fishing is sad fishing
Over fishing kills generation
Someday, we will catch nothing.

Freedom

                               As a fisherman:
                                    it's always a great feeling
                                    to give back its freedom
                                    like freeing a she crab
a she milkfish, a she prawn
                                    for spawning purposes.

Autumn Flutter

autumn bronzed

bubbling trees

sway, sweep, and tilt,

twist, turn, then bow;

spawning boughs tossing

hurricaned dust.

Premium MemberSpats in Opposition

If he who does not know kept silent, discord would cease.
                                                           ~ Socrates

Squabbling with words; spats in opposition
can bring about discord and suspicion
Christians should be able to live in harmony
or their accord and union will atrophy

What kind of world must humans think to mold
in bringing warmth and not a chilling cold
fashioning traits with kind words of diction
not spawning hurtful thoughts, causing friction

Antagonism unfolds to reveal hostility
ruining mutual trust and tranquility
With staunch optimism, I faithfully pray
that no chasm of rancor will whorl my way

For as long as the risen sun casts mornings in glory
we will not bind our souls with fear and worry
Each night a profusion of stars shines from above
I pray one day we will all share brotherly love

*My head is not buried in the sand, and I don't wear rose-colored
glasses, but I'd rather have positive thoughts than negative ones
about our tomorrows.

"O blessed Java Sparrows mostly, the rare Opals then the plentiful Greys--palm frond squatters, and the ever so oft, Mejiro birds, a.k.a., the "Japanese White-Eyed," chartreuse bodied against the legendary red Lehua blossoms of the Ohia tree," ... by the Poet's House

Negligible motions, Java Sparrows,
haiku artisan, deep in thought, attends,
dawn break wings flapped--an idea narrows,
wake unassumed thoughtless emptied pretends.

Shelved packaged bird seeds feignedly addressed,
bird tray absence spilt seeds stretch, preached as well,
slight spread outwards, fashioned spawning impressed,
near and far, Meijiro's numbered midst swell.

Shunned Java Sparrows, aimless namesakes,
Meijiro's not pleased, their own--true Zero,
starved be-trayed craftsman sentiments opaques,
overburdened, labored--the birds, ditto!

Food fills the starving, and water quench thirst,
pleased chirps harmonize--receptive mind, versed.

Premium MemberOnce Called a Season

Spawning a precipice; you switched us off; no good reason
On second thought; no one should take credit or defame,
Unilateral is the only fair way to equally explain
Lackluster would be the sadness of this refrain;

Lamentable was what it left me with; or perhaps disdain,
Envisaging; happy with me; I was too eager to frame,
Sadly, it's overwhelmingly done, all the same
Subverted; a section of our time, was once called a season

Gaia

O' Mother
Beloved mother

With your voluminous beauty

From majestic mountaintops to verdant countrysides
From mammoth oceans and seas to quiet lakes and ponds where ducks reside
A fertile basin that gives and keeps on giving
Organic love that's naturally comforting and nurturing
Winsome trees abound; yes, I see regal redwoods and sublime pines
A haven for birds and squirrels
Man has his place there too; there he can sit and have peace of mind
And oh, the lovely, colorful flowers for industrious bees
Redolently spawning life through a spring or summer breeze

O' Mother
Beloved mother

With your alluring, comforting arms
Tenderly drawing man and all life nigh your
bosom with resplendent charm

Spring

Gone is the cold wind.
Now is the time of sunshine.
Bringing singing birds.
As spawning fish run up stream.
Traversing rapids to home.
