Salty and bitter,
But I am not a quitter,
No, instead rather
I am more of a winner
Than the sorest of loser.

Exhausted I was
And I had the worlds’ sorest throat all day
Allergies? Possibly. Something else?
I do not have time for it, so no.
Went to bed at 7:34 p.m.
I know because I glared at the clock
Mad that I was this dhramned tired.
Be young as long as you can, my friends.
Be young and play!

We never appreciate feeling well,
Even when we are sick and swollen
And hurting.
We never appreciate feeling well.
Even when we have been sick for
Ten days with the sorest throat
We have ever had
We never appreciate feeling well
Even after we have had shingles and
Tuberculosis and blubonic
Plague for a year
We never appreciate feeling well
For very long.
And we rarely say
Thank you.

The first non-funeral I ever heard about was for a relative I had never wanted to claim.
She was an evil-soul, mean-spirited, a cruel paragon of human non-virtue.
When I was a child I would have rather visited the dentist,
and I probably have the worst, sorest teeth in the universe
so that is spelling it out.
She had specifically asked for no funeral, and this was decades before non-funerals were popular.
I knew why.
She had alienated the neighbors, and the relatives,
and I mean ALL the relatives, and some of us are particularly
impossible to alienate.
In lieu of a funeral, there was a reception for her.
It was attended by four people.
Her two children, one whom she had treated horribly,
a drinking buddy, who was inebriated, and possibly on something else,
and my sister who does not count as she is a ghoul about funerals,
excited to add this to her amazing I-go-to-every-funeral-in-this-town
count which at that time was in the six thousand range.
I was in town that day, sitting in a chair, pointedly not going to this non-funeral.

Trapped in the midst of a murky forest
traipsed across the length and breadth of jungle
None to speak of, heart turned sick and sorest
I was alone in the dark, I stumbled
Amidst the shrubs, numerous eyes glittered
they chorused"Welcome to the land of bliss"
Cute Bunnies held my hands, not embittered
They took me into the dark vast abyss
Umpteen friends joined us in the welcome pomp
Starting from tireless ants to giant rats
All mingled, played and dived into the swamp
Glad I could hear voices of birds and chats
Days went off;One day I saw an apple
I ate it, ignoring instinct appeal

Discover America; its beauty awaits.
You’ll see it in every part of our land.
The grandeur and majesty are there to behold,
As if placed by an artist’s skilled hand.
Through the skin of the earth there’s a massive descend,
And at the very bottom wetness may lie.
The canyon’s river that rocks make bend,
So deep, once there, one’s passions may die.
Wyoming is home to a towering stone
Overlooking plains as a sentinel.
Protruding from the ground the foundation must moan
Supported by land that must be dentinal.
Yellowstone is a land full of discovery.
It contains hills, water, and a massive forest.
An animal population here made a valiant recovery.
The living trees are still the sorest.
Gulf Shores is a paradise bliss.
The white beaches meet the ocean’s salt.
The feeling here is an honorable kiss,
When crashing waves come to a halt.
Discover America; its beauty awaits.
You’ll see it in every part of our land.
The grandeur and majesty are there to behold,
As if placed by an artist’s skilled hand.

When darkness falls on the fortunes of men
And dark clouds of shame gather about their brows
There're stars that rise deep in their eyes.
There they stand frozen
Beaming forth a message
For the shepherd of men to seek and read.
By these stars he divines their sorest need
And by them he navigates to lofty thrones,
Carrying his broken flock to golden hills
Willed by Heaven as their dwelling place.
There's a new leader come in America
That found his way to the White House
Following the twinkle of these stars
That like the flash of beacons
Did bid him to the right turns on the mazy path to power:
Here to the right, there to the right again;
Further down the road to the right once more
And thence to glory.
By his triumph, the story of Moses in Hillary unfolded:
His sour fate she came to share.
The glass ceiling she struck with her golden staff
And like the Red Sea at once it parted.
Through it she set off on her long march
To the Promised Office across the desert.
But soon she tripped on her dozen faults
To be condemned by grieving Heaven
To see, to approach, the Promised Office
But never once to reach it.

And why this curse was placed on me
base of hallow lands
and why it fell with so much glee
from lace of someone's hands
to follow me from crib to grave
to gut me once and yet to taunt
to covet me into a slave
a ghost appears but not to haunt
to tell a tale this apparition
to show me pain without regret
to settle me, not the rendition
of a man that no one's met
for like the tree I'm in the forest
but unlike them, I can't be heard
and for my lot I should be sorest
because I've lived in the absurd
I scramble now from fear to sadness
looking for my days gone bye
and once they swore that I was the badness
as they told me not to cry
And in myself I still believe him
perched upon his safety net
but I have given more than one limb
I have paid his endless debt

As the soft golden sun
Licked the aloe vera in my room
I felt a red sensation
Coming out in a lovely bloom
I sought to read the book
Lifted it from my chest
And look! It was a soft river
Coming to slowly into a crest
Spontaneously came whispering words
Like the summer breeze in a forest
This way, this way are the birds
They will heal our wounds sorest
These small moments of tremendous wealth
Help retain the windows open
Blowing in great winds of health
Blended with words unspoken

Out-of-towners in the city,
Seeing folks go rushing by,
Seem to think it’s such a pity
Their hellos get no reply.
Small-town friendliness ‘round here
Sticks out like the sorest thumb.
In this urban atmosphere,
Self-absorbed we’ve all become.
There’s no room for conversation
With a person we don’t know.
Why allow a complication
To disrupt life’s ebb and flow?
Still, we might return a nod;
More than that, we’d find it odd.

I do believe in magic
I so believe in peace
I believe you know undoubtedly
Of beauties and of beasts
The human spirit can withstand
And rise above the shrine
Belittle all you want, my dear
I’ll be the dwarf in time
But I’ll evolve as I hold dear
These sentiments that haunt you
I’ll cherish every single tear
Because you’ve plagued me to
I’ll turn the other rosy cheek
Though undeserved it may be
I will forgive, but won’t forget
The promised growth inspired in me
Further more, I wish to say
Remind me that I’m still alive
Disturb the sleeping monsters
Please provoke me to survive
You compliment this hypocrite
Attention seeking scum
And help stick out the finger
That outranks the sorest thumb
