Somewhat Misty Memories

A month of memories,
Are somewhat washed away,
Blurred to my naked eye.
Some I can remember,
Some I chose to forget,
Now just haze in my heart.

somewhat like falling in love

childlike spontaneity and pure intent
as innate propensity of our soul
in judging poetry contests
where focus is upon
a line of inquiry 
seeks an ethereal scent
made alive by words symbolic 
cajoling presence to imbibe the fragrance 
assimilated in stillness by the mind of our heart

as renowned masteroes electrify the stage
with flawless renderings of their music
an almost imperceptible subtle

Pardon me, where's the pardon on the Family?
Was the CCP funding too lucrative, Universities? 
Any press briefing, explanations, 
the WEF financial mechanisms 
too carotid in artery.

Somewhat By Not Quite

drawn to a sublime scent intimate
fearing the wafting elixir won’t wait
we opted to meld with the vast void
that our soul’s focus be not decoyed
but what arose, an ephemeral rose
seduced and then sank into repose
leaving hollow heart demagnetised
ethereal effervescence not realised
in as not as yet an ignition in renewal
whose pulsating radiance is continual
promoting us to dissolve

I have little energy

Pickle Throws a Party

Mr. Pickle threw 
A lavish pickle party
Inviting all his friends
Dill, sour, kosher
Spears and even halves
Seeing that the party
Was off the chain
Some uninvited guest arrived
With thirst and hunger
In their eyes, 
They were humans!
Who tried to eat the pickles
But the pickles fought back
Dill rows around on the floor
Knocking them off balance
Sour dashes juices 
Down their throats

Somewhat Injury-Prone

First grade, pelted with eggs
  Second grade, broke both legs
Third grade, fell down the stairs
  Fourth grade, clawed by a bear

Fifth grade, ran into a tree
  Sixth grade, twisted a knee
Seventh grade, concussed my head
  Eighth grade, fell out of bed

Ninth grade, had meningitis  
  Tenth grade, appendicitis

A Somewhat Darker Santa

There was an old Santa from Limerick
Who became so odd as a maverick
He drove all his reindeer insane
When they showered him with methane
And lived the rest of his life choleric.

He was nominated Santa once more
When the weatherman forecast rain to pour
But his reindeer had all passed on
Tender and rare the steak all gone
When having shacked

Somewhat Confusing Somewhat Amusing

 It astounded me when my husband felt
no pain when he had his first heart attack,
but bumps his toes and I learn an array
of words in high tone that takes me aback.

It's innate when my dog does a ditty 
chasing a kitty in a speeding match,
but when he confronts it he wants to play.
