Premium Member Snow Covered Tableau

Scenes silver-painted
Beam bits of sun shines
Sparrows, snow tainted
Hands of trees peace signs
Bushes stand fainted
All around God's shrines

Premium Member Snow Covered Mountains

Backlit snow-covered mountains in a Swiss hamlet
A place I have dreamed about but have not actually met.
Saturated in snow, covering black evergreen trees.
A magical place, in my dreams, that feels like a tease.

I create an impassible road, with no cars around.
It is a hushed reverent night, with not one single sound.
There arises in the night a marigold amber moon
I feel something unusual will be happening soon.

The air is cold, I can feel my breath as I walk.
Quietude surrounds me in this mountainside lock
I feel loved, cherished and safe in this dream
The moon sends me love in each of his beams.

Snow Covered

Winter comes, be numb
Cold chaos, long hiatus
Hidden from the sun

The Snow Covered Bridge

The Snow Covered Bridge
A snow covered bridge with on footprints in sight
A picturesque place for a rendezvous night
He stood in the cold till the cold got to him
Then he turned and left with feelings gone grim
On the opposite shore someone was waiting
Bundled up in the cold and anticipating
She too saw the bridge with no footprints in sight
And thought to herself, this would not be her night
Too lovers unwilling or maybe afraid
To take that first step to the plans that they made
And maybe it wasn’t a bridge after all
But simply the failure to make the first call

Snow Covered Lie

White ash falls
settling on the ruin of disaster
the tomb of the newly dead,
the death of those still standing.
A forgotten story,
a lost tale,
the remains of madness,
cased by the white blanket covering the scarred land.

Premium Member Snow Covered Hills

~ Back, slide back, on snow covered hills ~
The child I’d been, glad to begin,
Touching mood mirth freely given
As we celebrate Christ again.

The child I’d been, glad to begin
Our family Christmas season.
We circle our lush Christmas tree
With His love as precious reason.

Touching mood mirth freely given
Grows memories purely tender.
Love does nurture and develop
Magical emotional splendor.

As we celebrate Christ again
We submit faith to time’s embrace
So joy may tend a lasting grasp
In our hearts place of love’s best face.

Upon Icy, Snow Covered And White Faced Ground

Winter's heart, skies filled with the cold blue
Soon furry critters will begin another sleep.
Awaiting a future change in Spring's first clue
while in frigid forests chills blast in so deep!

Across vast plains winds cut frosty sky on down
upon icy snow covered and white faced ground.
Out race children in a snow covered nearby town
to frolic and play in the whiteness all around.

Winter's nights, hold a larger, brighter moon
more light to display beautiful snowy scenes.
Many cry this beauty vanishes far, far too soon
wishing to hold it there by any and every means!

Winter's heart, skies filled with the cold blue
Soon furry critters will begin another sleep.
Awaiting a future change in Spring's first clue
while in frigid forests chills blast in so deep!

Fierce cold eats into the valleys and the hills
where many dread its beauty and cutting chills!

Robert J. Lindley, 08-16-2015

NOTE- This time of the year my mind always turns
to winter and its fierce cold. A thing that I so
often dread. Even as a child I would have traded
the snow and its beauty/play for warm weather any
day.
