Premium MemberA Lonely But Lovely Day

Here I am at home on my own
listening to some great Mozart
while I put my pen to paper
today I will enjoy in no small part

This is a setting I truly enjoy
just little old me I singly see
all my good times in life
and in the future, I do foresee

A picture this is in my mind
so full of complete inner joy
something one can't explain
like in childhood loving a fav toy

Later after lunch read a book
one that stirs your heart so full
someone's life or maybe poetry
that brings real peace as a rule

This day is marked by joy
an inner peace so distinctly real
many like this I hope to spend
bow in God's presence to mark His seal

Premium MemberForgotten Field of Forever

My dear sweetheart, let's take a walk
and have a talk
Whispering sweet murmurs of forevermore
on that golden shore
Pronouncing promises of staying together
in every weather
Reminiscing the memories we made
they never will fade
Declaring delicate vows of devotion
across any ocean
Vowing to value each other for a lifetime
as two hearts singly chime
Forgetting the world and its worthless worries
throwing them to the breeze
Spending special eternity with one another
kissing away bother
Losing our lives to love once again
reviving ardour yen
Crooning comfort in crepuscular crescendo
under heaven's vast window
Pledging utter passion that's perpetual
soft avowals mutual
Holding hands and joining souls in a world without end
that's where our lives we'll spend

Premium MemberWringly Bingly Pingly Singly Day

have you ever just wanted to have a wringly bingly pingly singly day?
I had one yesterday, which meant I laughed and giggled in every way.
It helps if you have an amazing partner in crime, who is willing to stay…..
and remind you of your antics and stories, with a merry sashay.

I am lucky that I do have such a friend, let’s call her Merry T. May.
The joy in her heart always uplifts me, she is bright orange not light gray.
Let’s have a wringly bingly pingly singly day, I rapidly say.
Without any hesitation she jumps in with happiness right away.

BELLS

BELLS

Bells that talk among themselves
Sounding their distinct messages
From one city church to another
Predictably on each exact hour
Yet sometimes for special reasons
In celebration, maybe as a warning
Whether singly or a complex peal
Some low, others higher in pitch
Tones reaching into the distance
Heard, yet ignored by thousands
Thought a token of a bygone age
Yet all still with an important role
A hopeful Sunday call to prayer
In an increasingly agnostic land
Yet campanology skills survive
Expertise in ringing the changes
A commitment, if not to music
But to maintaining the tradition
Bell ringing for the community
That if silenced, will be missed

IF IT WASNT FOR POETRY

IF IT WASN’T FOR POETRY

If it wasn’t for poetry, I’d be free
Not a reluctant slave to my muse
Yet with just one occasional verse
The universe suddenly is focussed
Words that singly lacked meaning
Can combine and multiply emotion
Such that it made one draw breath
Seeing a glimpse of something real
That would not otherwise be born
Nor inspire some unknown reader
Perhaps even unaware of the craft
With a link across time and space

A Onetime Heartbreaker

A ONE-TIME HEARTBREAKER:

Singly, they placed before him a bid,
Just to explain himself about what he did.
He took them on a date,
And the relationship was so great.
With their upper wish elate,
Though his proposal was laid on await.
He accepted them as his work mates,
So he had good times with them.
Making him an absolute gem.
He was always ready on any term,
To offer them help when they squirm.

So they beheld him romantically,
As he treated them majestically.
Holidays were their refreshing days,
And their birthdays,their best days.
Gifting them was his tradition,
which always came out of affection.
Later, time went on from days to months,
As there was on and off on their chats.
So he close that chapter,
And besides they were no more working together.

But he sent an invitation to one of them,
Exactly, few days to his wedding.
Precisely through WhatsApp,
Later, he realised the message was pending,
So they didn't get the message to show up.
After two months when he's now a husband,
They singly called him to confirm,
Since they heard about his nuptial from friends.
Honestly, their hearts became infirm,
And now they say it's a great offence.

The Blind In Streets

To The Begging Blind
Be squarely kind:
The ones walking our streets lined
But also those doing it singly
And sort of acting kingly!

The Blind also battling with a limp
And The Ones who seem A Pimp,
Never them to a halt grind
Nor to a spot with stories bind;
In their front leading, not behind
Their guide pretend you’d signed
And their alms release like one fined …

With The Begging Blind
Deal with an open mind.

The Innocent and the No Longer

The Still Innocent
Pockets an offered cent
The-Hundred-Times-Less-Than-A-Dollar
Only the crazy singly obliges a caller.

The Still Innocent
Always tightening fingers on a cent
Waits for The White Collar
For an honestly earned dollar
Or The Less Intellectual Blue
In many companies still true.

The No Longer Innocent
Perfectly knows the scent
Of the more-Than-A-Cent
And close to one, acts no Saint
Nor would his wishes repaint
Deprived of it simply faint …

The No-longer-Innocent
Is at heart rent
After an honest gift you sent
Valued but just above a cent.

The woman still innocent
Says “Enough that my Guy is a Gent”
Only a Real Rabblerouser
To ably sell her The Vile Intent
And A Buffeting Bulldozer
To have her bent …

The Still Innocent And The No Longer
Betray different hunger.

Premium MemberPin the Day Upon Me

In this brief space stand we naked
Held to breast with clinging fingers

Shaped with feeling gived and given
Wanted or not, we do not singly move.

Glance upon our naked masks
Laugh inward at the outward play

Playing with the earnest hunger
Of a stalking wolf

Be pleased or not
A moment sliced in two

Strip veneers of weed strewn years
Away
With tears of laughters joy

Soaring without bounds
This broad expanding soul

Sometimes
Unrecognizable as our own

Pin the day upon me
Worn for all to see
Whatever else you do however,

Never let me be

To 252

How I missed thy blessing(s)
Divine and much amazing

Though you were not here
I yearned for thy boon ever

Not a singly day was spent
Without remembering thee my Saint

Finally I got you today
Of course I have made hay

Delightful mien in pink attire
Has boosted me to verse like fire

Such a glorious Goddess you are
Please never be so far..!

Thy virtual wishes are vital
For my very survival..!!

Premium MemberWho Are You When No One's Watching

In those days of wearing face masks,
it makes one think what are we hiding?
even behind these plastic masks, we've a cover
not one we like to admit but it's a real thing

Honestly, our special mask is always on
make sure it shows the best image of me
this mask has different colours and sizes
we control it to show what's to see

Of freedom, we speak of falsely
for wearing any mask were not free
real freedom is to be true to self
hide from no one showing the real me

This is no easy thing to be
remain true despite the odds you face
many will hate you but be singly loyal
stand strong to show you have grace

At the end of the day no less
remember God sees your soul not the face
leave off that mask be true to self
hide no more be free to win your race

So let's ask the question before us
who are you when no one's watching?
learn to be content with ourselves
fly free as a bird no need to catch that bus

(I've written this after being moved and inspired by an article titled ' Who are you when no one's watching' by poet, writer and friend Joanna Stratford)

I Repeatedly Returned

“I came, I saw, I conquered.”
Should that now be my motto?

Was given a “Temple” Tour,
Like Nebuchadnezzar we RETURNED!

We repeatedly take what was
Shown to us that day, bit by bit!

Pirates and Buccaneers ????? we
Became, O see! We want, we want!

From then on either in a Group
Or singly, we repeatedly Returned!

I came, I saw, I plundered!”
God knows that this is Wrong!

Shield

Riding on a sail singly
He went out of the border bravely,
With the rhythm of waves freely
By carrying shield of faith only...

He had travelled beyond his limitation
Still he is far from his destination,
But he is not caring at all
That is his dream place over all...

After that dreamy evening
That spooky night came,
Which brings storm and squall
His sail was in middle of hell,
Meanwhile which scattered and fail...

All his dreams were shattered suddenly
He was also drowning mutely,
In that marine hurricane and adventure
Which was rising at every junction...

When he started losing moral and strength
Suddenly he recall his shield of faith,
He endeavour with faith many time
By gazing him storm also abated this time...

His shield gave him victory and light
And that was the end of that bloody night,
New dawn new destination
Same shield but new station...

For Unity We Are

Let you be many
For unite undying soul
Let many be you
We, all for single
Another and for other
Singly an atom
Beginning to end
Micro cosmic for macro
Single strength for whole
For universe we’re
In the metamorphosis
Form of almighty power
To keep balance in-out life
