Naïve Faith

Callow faith walks with wide eyes
In playgrounds littered with stark cunning
When adorned innocence
Seeks to soar where angels fly
Not blinded by fool’s gold
Nor looted by evil’s glittery tinsel
Or minds darkened by drugs of ebony
That plagiarizes honesty
With rationalized temptations
In ravished glamour.

Artless faith, clothed by incorruptible purity,
Shivers when simplicity senses
A wrinkle in infinity -
Guileless belief skirts gullible’s traps
Clothed in a gift of sight.

When beastly motives
Try to sideswipe honesty
With glitz and jewels of paste
Dangling shiny promises with dark underbellies
Naive faith, clothed in discernment,
Sees with candid clarity.

The rose still blooms despite attacks
By mold or mildewed rust
The sun still wakes the dawn
Even when eclipsed
Crowned by a faultless corona
As stars refuse to enter black holes
Faith embraces the innocent.

Dark Rise

The streets are ridge-backed and growling.
City lights glare like outflanked samurai.
Your thin lips dice words,
sideswipe wanton desire,
hints of release measure my mind.
Whiskey blooms in your orchid mouth.
I am led to where a lust
is snorting to be free.
Warm winds groom stray hungers.
A room behind the neon
beckons.

tick tock nineseventeen o’clock
clouds have parted
and the reign of Christ has begun

shocked at the pm sideswipe
people stare and scratch their heads
twilight of a new day

as the sun shines like never before
scene of agape amour
a monumental throne

approachable and serendipitous
9:17 sticksthough time itself has stopped

heaven’s opened up
with seraphim and cherubim
look see look see

excellence is on the throne
no one’s sick no one’s poor
glorious eyes surprised

Dirran-Bandi Paddy

Dirran-bandi Paddy

Paddy Stewart from the Dirran,
drove them cattle in the truck,
up and down ole Balonne, the river,
where the Yellow Bellys suck, …..fish

narrow bridge a coming down,
bloody car will sideswipe me,
looking swerving dodging past,
need a bloody. Wee. Wee, We, …..piddle

bloody flat tyre on the truck,
Ninga Ning Josephs, plurry luck,
bleedin from the nose a lot ,
struggling with the wheel he got,

ole Sherriff arrives with bloody help,
ripped up Nellys petticoat,
driving it up his snozza a bit, ….nose
wedged screwdriver bulging it,
till blood from brain, the blood forgot.

So he didn’t bleed to death…

Him

Him
Some indecent evening you may see a ferret strangler
While he’s baying at the moon
Horse farts seem a little angrier
If they cannot keep in tune
Ponce across the withered lawn
While the first new bindei stings
Bloodshot eyes hung over, mourn
Angels flop without their wings
Don Johnson
POLITICALLY CORRECTED
Ironic is the field of play
Pawns do fall in disarray
Minority groups dictate the word
Intelligence diminished so absurd
Changes made the law they say
Correct political stupid day
Don Johnson
AND YOU THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY?
Sliding down the concrete canyons
Staggering onward evermore
Is the whiskery bloke the Banion
Might just get it at the store
Street kids pelting cricket balls
Swerve to dodge em once or twice
Off the footpath sideswipe walls
Scratch me head dislodge the lice
Frats aplenty in the city …………….
Plonkers sucking green paw paw
Bowels a churning ity bitty
Sucking eggs a haw haw haw………….
Heading homeward slightly frazzled..
With me ferret in his cage
Don’t want any crap or hassle
Feral ferret wants to rage ….Don Johnson

The Key To the Highway

The key to the highway
Is to be Careful, how you approach it
Look for potential Opponents, as you slide on
Pay close attention to the flow of things
Especially, the Impromptu lane jumpers
And, the Quick crossover-ers
Who think of Noone but themselves
Seeing as how, they own the road
But, you be better than that
You are the Eyes and Ears of Everyone
And, Everything, around you
It is your Civic duty to be Safe
By watching out for the Safety of Others, too
So, do drive with Caution
Skip a lane or two, if you have to
But, put your blinkers on
Use your high beamers for troublespots
Most importantly, be Courteous not dumb
Let Noone bump or sideswipe you
But, remember to Play it safe
Oh yeah, put those Signals on
