That has a nice ring to it.
Go Barry Darvell.
What a catchy melody.
A record from yesteryear.
in the silence
my thoughts plod the path
of yesteryear

The simplicity
Unlocked windows... unlocked doors
Kids playing outside
Old school rhythm and blues groove
The community village
Christmas time is here;
Full of holiday cheer;
Yet, I long for yesteryear,
When my children all were near…
In my eggnog drips a tear.
Staring at frayed picture of yesteryear
An old man lives with strangers
His caring son and wife

The old ways not to spurn
Resist change at every turn
Today there’s so much churn

to time's harsh hand
I touched its soul
Me--the spring of wine
in one glass of yesteryear
where the God drinks the mystery
without hate
without wars
for a new History
Lost

foolish ways,

Tears
26/07/2018
A tear forms in my mind’s eye,
Sins of yesteryear rear their head.
Dismiss thoughts of guilt as I cry,
A tear for friends now long dead.
Oh the dreams of yesteryear,
times,places, things,and people,
that once, were close and near.
Now they are just a memory,
locked forever in the pages,
of history.
East to West.
Pieces
of history
rise up,
welcoming
the wheels of many.
Dreams
of yesteryear
forge new memories
as adventurers
return
to Mother’s call.

the memory of yesteryear
distant and discolored
snapshot of a past
vague but not forgotten

My grandparents talk
about things that happened yesterday
but do they really mean yesterday?
or should they say
that's from the past
it's history
yesteryear or
yore?
Ideology
penetrates the skull...
alien missile,
strange...
Is a parrot that repeats
voices of yesteryear
to muster herd...
Strong lie
to form minions
to lick boots
of rogues, humans...
we stood alone
that's how hunger works
we craved attention
a little praise
when i think back
we could have banded
we could have been strong
but we didn't

Ever so beautiful
Exceptionally great
Goodness evolving
Purified slate
Words uplifting
Positively sincere
Brighter future
From yesteryear
Carry on
Stay strong
Live long
Peace on
Earth.
WORDPLAY
to my poet peers,
in this PS sphere;
where many shed a tear
with talk of yesteryear;
Few puns do I hear !
so please my reader dear
p'raps you'll give a steer
& bring a smile near
Illusions,symbols of childhood,
coloured filled swathes of painterly
hues.A private fantasy in slow
motion suspended in space.An
abstracted blur in flashbacks of
yesteryear,caught in a daydream.
WHAT CAN THE MATTER BE?
Words bring poems near
to my poet peers,
in this PS sphere;
Many shed a tear
with talk of yesteryear;
But no puns do I hear !
oh reader ,my dear
p'raps you'll give a steer.
Pastel dreams of yesteryear
Smile and don’t shed a tear
Strength for you foretold
Days together will not get old
Crystal clear can’t you see
Know that your memories are free.
