Up they go on a magic carpet ride
From Kansas home, they whirled
To a make-believe world
They were in Oz to find the other side
Close my eyes, home I feel
I cannot be dreaming, dreams aren't this real
Ruby red shoes, three clicks of the heel
I will never forget how they all helped me heal
My friend made of straw and the other Tin steel
Saw a stage play of the WIZARD OF OZ
At our local theatre, didn't expect it, I was in awe
Extremely well done
So enjoyable and fun
My hat is off to these performers and a big hurrah

I have removed my idea for casting characters for the Wizard of Oz. It would seem someone(s) took umbrage at the suggestion, perhaps in fear they'd be cast as a character they would not like to be associated with. I find that amusing.
clover prances prettily
moss curls up next to fern
dandelion's leaves gloating
ethereal verdant forest
showing off spring's color
entire world glowing
in Wizard of Oz delight
Rejuvenating and revitalizing
Every aspect of the meadow
Morbidly curious?
Not really.
Want to see?

Oz dreamt Dorothy —
waters never melted witch
monkeys buzz like flies
the trio ne’er met —
no brain, heart nor courage found
tears of rusted tin
ruby nor silver
slippers colorize the land
— monochrome wizard
monotone munchkins
slaves to the emerald sky

In another place, another day, another time,
The house was new and the weather sublime
Winds whistle through windows broken,
Singing along with the lyrics spoken
Echoing from somewhere with hope anew,
"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue."
