Notes About The Poem

11/18/2024 for Wizard of Oz Limerick Poetry Contest sponsored by Charles Messina

Disconcerting Ozian Beings

The Wizard of Oz leaves me chilled
(take those weirdos, the Lollipop Guild),
but West Witch's flunkies,
those strange flying monkeys,
leave my poor lion's heart terror filled.

This is beautiful. I found a new phrase, Lollipop Guild. I felt a lot of motion and action in your words. A plus for me. Good luck with the contest.

haha, sounds fun. that reminds me of when I was 18, and had recently left home, and they two guys I met, who were friends, did an imitation of that lollipop guild routine. It was funny to see two guys in their early twenties doing that.
