What Makes Me Tick
Sun and Earth spinning, universes burning, inwardly yearning
Knowledge and learning, warmness in the darkness turning

Spirit and soul, love kept beside my bed in a bowl
A cold winters night and stove full of coal...

Silence
Silence
A deafening blow to the heart,
as our love lies dying,
like wilting flowers,
on a cold winters night.

Silence
Leaves me out cold,
Torn and broken,
Rejected and beaten,
Lifeless and alone.

Silence
leaves me off the road,
sitting there listening to the silence....

Shaky
It was but a crack
To grow up through me
My knees, hands, chest, and height
I crack and groan through the winters night
Like grated sand these cracks, they pile
Firm, unlike before
Though it feels more solid
Its a sand soaked in tears
Still, I slide and stumble
Even in pieces, I amount to more...

            cold breath
            Winters night
            the roof beams arch
Laces of ice and snow drape the planet
The landscape is crowned with sparkling diamonds

Captured Vision
Shiny pink colored lips, parted so slight.
Warm, soft exhales, recognized on a cold winters night.
While traces of silver glitter dance and dart with moons glow,
the moment of this captured vision, a mere second, yet slow.
The smallest of details only noticed by you,
forever remaining within the heart, and your mind too....

A Fortunate Man
I love you like the springtime
always a welcome sight
the touch of your heart
warms my winters night

good fortune shines upon me
for some never feel a sunrise in love
waking in a sweet embrace
with a glimpse of heaven up above

truly I am grateful
for every radiant morning light
I love you like the springtime
always a welcome sight...

WOLF MOON

WOLF MOON

The first full moon of the year appears,
Such bright silver light,
The Wolf Moon is here.
In the frozen winters night,
Mysterious moon, high in the night sky,
A sight that brings such delight!
Haunting sound of the wolves howling,
Such a sharp, crisp, winter frost in the air,
Venture out to see the wolf moon,
Would you dare???

As Yet Unresolved
Nature or Deity
what petty cruelty
or splendid mystery
that he and she
would so distant be
in mind and manner and vanity
This is why they writhe and bite
or love as cold as winters night
We claw and kiss and spit in spite
We rage and pace and fuss and fight
or cut with words or flee in fright
yet in all of this we find delight
and die together blissfully...

Graceful Winter
Snowflakes spill from heaven's hand
Lovely and wonderful like smooth white sand.
A veil of wonder is put in light
Falling Gently on a winters night.

Graceful beauty raining down
Giving magic to the lifeless ground.
Each snowflake like a falling star
small and delicate like a star.

Till earth is dressed in a robe of white
The unspoken poem the hush of night....

Passion burning by firelight

A mystic instigation, of skin against skin
In breathless anticipation, for loving to begin
Outside is the darkness, of a cold winters night
Inside there's a passion, burning by firelight

Dream Foretold
I saw you in a dream foretold
one winters night in the cold.
You became and image in part
of and old man's broken heart.

The dream begins every night
I close my eyes, it takes flight.
As I awake to dawns new day
I find my soul was taken away.

Love is for the young and old
it can't be brought or even sold.
But the dream that is foretold
can be forgotten and even stole....

Love Required Will Not Bite 10lines
I’m a hedgehog called Nick
With prickles that will prick
Keep away, keep your distance
Warning not to show persistence
But wait, I’m very lonely
And would welcome someone homely
Cuddling on a winters night
Squeezing her so very tight
Nightly dreams increase my plight
Love required will not bite

A Moment
Waters stall on a warm winters night.
The craft I pull takes on its stillness.

Breathing in old circumstance.
My Desire reflects clearer than I saw before.

On a rock face far, his hand reaches out to me.
My palms penetrate the glassy surface and fold into his.

Mist forms.
Dare I hope?

In but a moment the river starts again,
and we must release.

Drifting forward.
Buds imprint the skin....

Headlights

I’m heading home now to see my Wife;
I’m gonna kiss her and hold her tight.
Because I think she is so wonderful;
My love I love you.
You are so beautiful.

Driving home on a winters night;
All I’m seeing are those damn headlights.
Those blinding lights, those bright, bright lights;
Those killer lights, have taken my life.

Traces
Bound by your presence
A torture to erase,
You have taken,
a piece of my existance
That cannot be salvaged.

In this cold winters night
Numbness, crys me to sleep.
Dont wake me from, this slumber
For its my only, peace.

A silent cry, I weep.
A fallen tear, that speaks.
A lonely heart, that mourns
Lingers in my speech.

Im not sober in existence
But transparent, in my flesh.
A abandoned spirit,
Now occupies, my emptiness....

Premium Member Six Feet Equals Three Bricks
Six Feet = Three Bricks Written: by Tom Wright 2/20/03 On winters night our mom would coddle, keeping moppets warm was quite a trick. Two feet always got the hot water bottle, while the other six feet got heated bricks. Heated and sheathed before finding beds, neath quilts, that seemed in weight, tons. With nothing protruding save burr heads, too young to recognize we were lucky ones.

Lies Kill
First given has a little kiss,
such silent taps upon the door.
The less the flesh that's shown to one,
so craves the need for more.
Colorless has daffodils,
in the dark of winters night.
Was the first of what I thought was truth,
yet lies was what was right.
Every word that you had spoken,
empty false unfixed and broken.
Valuless has is a token,
traded out for bills.
Emotionless because your lies,
it is my heart they kill....

In the Night
As I drift off to sleep, my thoughts are filled with images of you…
Your eyes, that could melt the coldest heart…
Your lips, warm and inviting, like a warm fire on a cold winters night, that I long to kiss…
Your arms, so strong, that they could support all that you cherish with ease…
In the night I hold you and I feel your heart within me….
Two hearts that beat as one…
Two souls that are twin flames…
Together finally, forever….....

Upon a Mid Winters Night
The woods echo with the stillness of a newly- fallen snow.

Moonlight beams glisten upon a frozen lake of deep sapphire hues.

Icicles adorned with a reflective mirrored glow.

Barren trees dressed in delicate icy lace, and feathery flakes of silvery blue,

white iridescent silk gowns of powdery snow billow and flow,

amid crystal ice teardrops of branch chandeliers escorted on the arm

of the northern wind, dance a minuet to winter’s Hymn...
