her macabre apparition
seen by a toddler
toddler is waving
invisible friend they think

It’s mid October
All leaves finally fallen
Carpeting the ground
Swirling in the autumn breeze

I watch them waving and I smile

Hawk's shadow passing
The trees all nestled ‘round the shore
