she shines brighter,

giving the Earth a dim glow,

one step follows another,

never knowing if the other end will be reached,

the city below slumbers,

unawares of the show that may go on....

of what we have

why would we risk
tipping the scales of illusion
when calm is reinstated

walking the tightrope
between love
and longing

the world seeming less hostile
and somewhat right again
if only for a moment
