Varnish
I ply the blame like varnish
thickly, it lays down
as long as it is still tacky
I think it best not to love again...

2
Who are you to sit
so near my head and
look to tempt my wit
by the keys in hand?

Standing tall before
I lock the heavy
varnish covered door
built to raise a tree....

Museum Walk
Voices mutter
echoes carry on
reflecting from ceilings

Streams of faces
mirrored in varnish
pale blank stares remember

Old paint cracking
limestone's polish fades
thin civilization...

The Mirror
its wood frame is flaking

the face reflected in the glass
is time-lagged
recognizable only
when molded
to a memory

tomorrow
i will strip the frame down
varnish it
polish the mirror
then sell it on

as a good riddance...

Unvarnished Wood
A dash of wood varnish
A- twiddle-lee-dee

A coat of wood polish
A-twiddle-lee-dum

An Easter red bonnet
A twiddle-lee-doo

We shall be
Like unvarnished wood
Blessed by the carpenters hands
Then, he shall smooth out the rough edges...

Lie
Long has it been maintained,
writing sprang from economic drive and need,
seeing as the cuneiform tablets
were soon interpreted with worldly eyes.

But economics is a stylus scratching lies on clay,
a social science to varnish human selfishness away....

He is there,
Grandfather Clock like,
a throwback to another era.

His finely chiseled and polished edges,
the scrapings of life,
the worn, faded, varnish.

His value
should have increased with age,
as with the clock.

Their timeless presence
sweet mementos
of a dusted past....

Memory

Where has the grass gone, juicy,
Green, shiny as if covered with a transparent varnish.
Where did I go,
Chained to the coolness of the life-giving carpet,
Sprinkled with the glare of the sun, straight from the blue sky.
Where is the flower?
In which I lived like something winged and inconspicuous....

Calligraphy
Deliberating about something cool
Which can varnish a smirk on someone's face
Don't know a bit, if you deem that I'm a fool
But this hand with a pen, grasping commotion for this race
It's hard to conceive this verses
Kind a like I'm in crisis
Stop meditating that this is nonsense
I am just with adoration for this calligraphy that I miss....

Tattoos -
Mate, if you give a fig, name is Jiggers.
Know now, I’m the kind of guy who likes booze.
People handed me that name, it figures.
I’m all coffin varnish smeared with tattoos.
Wild and mean, that kind of life’s what I choose.
Be sure, Saint John’s place to find a cheap flop,
place where I can try to shake all my blues.
I think Saint John’s a good New Brunswick stop....

The Young Lover
All the clouds where pistachio
The ink and the pen where not strong enough
The young lover brought himself to the window
He threw pebbles that tickled the weak glass
He did not know which weather was going to come out
His sweet and gentle sunny day
Or the thunderstorm of May
He braved himself and waited like a fox at night
Whether to varnish or stand like the oak in the rain...

Expression
bloodshot deriving out of wide eyes conformed to the ceiling
ruby red polish accompany the nail
spritz of fragrance leaving behind an illusion of professionalism
receiving roses to give glad hand towards beauty

why is my allurement the focal point of my pitiful existence?

the roses molded
	the incense faded
		the varnish chipped away
the lids have found one another once again
awaken once more only to find that expression...

Piano
Stripped of paint and any varnish
Most likely off tune, but how would we know
Singing a song for the hundredth time
I’ll bet you’ve never heard it.
This is a poem for my old school’s piano
The place that was once Saint James
We’d stand on the stage
And sing our hearts away
ANd hit eachother with multi colored tubing
You think I don’t remember you
From back when you couldn’t play Bach
You’d be mistaken, my old friend
Even if you forgot...

Premium Member I Love Smells
I love smells
Vicks and lemon comforts me
Cinnamon roll and pine cone
Remind me of Christmas

Smells seduce me, entice me, delight me.
I use my sniffer to figure out the world.
Old Spice. Hello Daddy.
Sweet Honesty. My days of being young and cute.

Fresh paint. A new beginning.
Varnish. The one dresser I refinished.
Gasoline. Vanilla. Caramel. All with their own memories.
Parading around in my head, reminding me of days I thought I had lost....

Subject Can Their Bad Kings Banish
Subjects can their Bad Kings banish:
Their Lords that image tarnish
By being decisive and mannish
While proving them a clannish
After bribing schnapps of the Danish
And deceiving wine the Spanish!

Subjects must the details furnish
Of the wrongs by Monarchs to banish
And if they wish some garnish
Or the entire narrative varnish!

Subjects should Terrible Kings punish
Their faults ceases to burnish
Their eulogy for The–Without–Blemish....

One Night Stand
one night stand of

smooth & absolute

dark

walnut

finish

(once soaked & lathered in

varnish, no doubt)

sits in the corner of the bedroom

reminding of the

madcap,

turbulently unbridled &

dare

one

might

say,

violent

pillow fight

had between two laughing teenagers

bursting with

energy,

in the attempt to drown out the

uncomfortably

cacophonous

sounds being produced by

two

consenting

adults

engaging in rough sex in the neighboring

apartment....

Distance Love
You need direction to set foot in
strange land,
but you don't need direction to Walk through my thoughts.
I wish to lost my way to glory and found myself in your heart
then i visited dreams to pave my eyes over your varnish face,
because distance set us miles apart.

I'd tell you how much I love you but existing words can't explain
but you will have an idea if you count the molecules of the rain.
When my desire burn you with flame, I'll love the ashes of you that remain...
