Poems For the Night 10
To ask anymore of you would
be a display of greed at its uttermost
Besides nothing is more perfect than you
Just the way you are...

Premium Member Rise Early For the Coast
To get the most from summer trip to coast
start early dosed up with coffee and toast,
avoiding almost, the hot sunburn roast,
an uttermost certainty on seacoast,
when lying reposed in slumber engrossed,
you sleep well post noon, with your tardy host....

Premium Member Wounded Sigh
In the stillness of the lonely night a melody of sorrow is haunting me. Your cruel words become the weight of my tears leaving a trail of heartache etched into the stone of my soul. Let my wounded sigh reverberate to the uttermost ends of the universe. Let it echo back to me with the melody of healing.

Christmas

Christ the Messiah
He has arrived
Resplendent in the flesh
Isles of the uttermost ends
Soulfully rejoice as
Today and tomorrow's
Merriment sings forever
Alleluia to the birth of the
Son of God

Wishing everyone at Poetry Soup a very Merry Christmas
with love, Freddie...

Premium Member Cabernet and Dragonflies
cabernet and dragonflies -
   red and green fireworks
      flitting about tall trunks;
the woods is dark. patio lit
with tea lights, amber and ebony.
pink-crèpe jellyfish, in uttermost twilight,
   suspended from jumbo umbrella.
breadsticks, like twigs, snap; several
   copious charcuteries.
flickering fate, speed of light
   of wedding tale, ancestry
      of one hundred years
will sail by in a nod,
but this eve is once upon a time,
merely the engagement.

Masks (Of Hallowen)
Darkness uttermost
Howl gobblins, gooks, grinch and ghost
Dripping touch of night

Blood like curdled light
Candle tears, white serpents hiss
Shadowing the mist

Hell has broken free
Behind the masked jubilee
Of death's silent screams

Rats, pumpkins, dead dreams
In dried fairytales of leaves
Mark, our prank deceives

The shuddering knife
Not again, jack ripped his heart
With pale piper's fife.

Not heaven nor art
The cold merriment, a wheeze
Of dark wintry breeze....
