poor girlfriend got fed up and then filed
was a smooth talker
was not a stalker

Fiery Events

fiery events
a candle flickers
ever waning as it melts
may love spark again? of course
breath pleased a candle
flames tuckered time for amour?
nicely kindled set to spark

Good Night
The day slips into rayless sky
And the busy of day finds it's end
Before I rest these tuckered eyes
There's a message I need to send
You've made my day fortuitous
In unexpected ways
For merely just my thoughts of you
Crafted smiles that lighted my face
Could it be we're that in tune
You mimic familiar routine
To think of me as night resumes
Saying good night dear one sweet dreams...

Promise of Thoughts
Thoughts are like birds
On their golden wings
They fly away
To an unknown place
With a promise to come back
When I am calm, cool and positive
Decorate the nest with optimistic attitude
Shun seeing the glass half empty
They fall from the boughs
Like the leaves of an autumn tree
Tuckered out and faded away
But with a promise
To sprout out again in green
If you bring back the sunny spring...

The Cozy Lil Kitten
There's my lil kitten!
Sittin' cozy in my mitten
Too tuckered out to play :)
Don't think she'd fit in a glove
(And I'm too gentle to shove)
So I'll go without mittens today

Dead Dog Walking
Took my dead dog for a long walk today.
I like to think that some that passed by
glimpsed the whisk of her bushy tail
or heard her cheerful panting,
as she strained at the leash.
I was reading a book about Shelties,
how they were bred to be working dogs,
sheep herders,
and won’t ever be lapdogs.
Back home, both tuckered-out,
I glance down,
she is asleep already,
no doubt chasing my legs,
around a bunch
of lampposts and fire hydrants....

Phone Bone Delight
PHONE BONE DELIGHT
A dog on a phone
Rang, ‘Dial-a-Bone,’
He wanted a delivery
Made to his home.
He also asked for
Small liver treats,
There’s nothing like dining
On two meats.
He smacked his lips
And howled at the moon,
Anticipating the delivery
Would be there soon.
When the van arrived
He tuckered in,
Growling and chomping
With his toothy grin.
Ah, there’s nothing like
Having a phone,
When I’m feeling peckish
I dial a bone....

A Little Christmas Poem
Carols chiming on the village green
Light snow adding to the atmosphere,
Bustling shoppers complete the scene
It’s easy to see the holiday is here,
With children laughing, anticipating
A midnight visit from jolly old St. Nick
In the park young folks are ice-skating,
So many activities, take your pick.
Sledding down a slope is my choice
Then, hot chocolate and a huge bonfire,
While happy carolers raise their voice
All tuckered out, I’m ready to retire.
