Early in the morning when the sun is still hid...
I like to get up and go for a walk like I did when I was a kid.

When it's cold and winter you dress to stay warm...
but as the seasons change you change your dressing form.

Early in the morning you see God's creation at it's best...
and sometimes there are twinkling stars and a tear on my vest.

I am getting older now and it's sometimes hard to do...
but God made the early mornings for me and you.

You coach our sons and daughters and you give them quality time...
And you help them discover great work is done between five and nine.

You're a hero to many and a friend to a lot...
And you'd probably do it if you didn't get paid or not.

I have pinched, pruned, planted, fertilized and even mowed...
I have dug, dressed, divided, harvested and hoed.

Then I thinned, trimmed, transplanted, sprayed, sowed and staked...
Then I wheeled, watered, weeded, rototilled and raked.

I loosened, limed and layered, that's me; gardening by the book...
But there was one thing I neglected, I was so busy I forgot to look.

My flowers were as beautiful as could be...
And I was so busy I didn't see.

In the process of creation God made you different from me...
We are alike but different you see.

I like red and you like blue...
and the work I do is different from you.

I get up early and you sleep late...
I am in a hurry but you can wait.

Even though we are different we're still part of God's team...
Our lives are interlocked as part of God's theme.

We're part of God's team and that's the way He wants it to be.
