So many earths to unearth....
worlds that define my history
like a geological time capsule;
you see,
I hid them from seas
of terror
in a world of fear.
I shoveled them down
for years,
until I forgot how they look like.
Sometimes I exhume them
for remembrance,
only to crowd my mind 
with unnecessary mess
all over again.........

      'Twas placed there by patriots Samuel Adams and Paul Revere.

         'Mongst other things found were three jugs of Samuel Adams Beer!

Searching the darkened streets 
of Santa Monica
hearing the music—chasing the words
dancing as demons followed behind

a lovely heart shaped 
antique locket
the motto 
inscribed within 
the locket was 
indicative of a time

This is a flag planted in territory I could not hope to control.
A buoy dropped in space that will never be sighted again.
A desperate note protected by a fragile bottle in the fathomless oceans.

Why does a craftsman labor to build an instrument that he knows cannot possibly function?

I have no answer, though I must be driven by that same force as I vainly attempt to tether time.
