I drank and nearly
Lost it all
Messed up
Woke up in jail
Got out and walked in slippers
The three quarter mile stretch
Then to the bus and home
What a great day and now things
Are already getting better...

After the Storm
After the
Killer rainstorm,
The ant colony
Realized that
The Lord giveth and
The Lord taketh, away
They sang a few
Bars of Amazing Grace,
In three-quarter time, but
God is good…all the time
Thank you Lord, and
Say, Amen...

Third shift- early morning
three quarter moon
a skunk lifts its tail
flashing its shooter.

Rooting caffeine and cheap gas
this cluster of cops must be bored.
Staring at me like I'm going to rob the place.
Because of this ffin -yellow tinged mask-...

Moon in the East rising
Why is this to me surprising
It is three-thirty P.M. afternoon
There's the three-quarter full moon

Giving a small light in broad daylight
What will it do on this cold night
Will it give a golden glow
To all who live on earth below...

Found Out
in the sudden quiet echo
his wife turned three quarter profile and said
so what DO you want?
he crossed his hands on his knees
and answered
divorce
he watched power die in her eyes
he watched ugliness creep under her skin
her face hardeing
he watched her hands grasp
for something
all she had was anger
found out...

So Fine
They call it three-quarter time
so put your hand in mine
and we can boogie woogie
all night long.

This syncopated rhythm
is very unforgiving
we'll be working up a sweat
all night long.

As the harmony begins
our feet mirror like twins
doing the boogie woogie
all night long.

Feel the muscles scream
as I swing and you lean
oh, we are so fine
all night long....

To a Poet
Take the helm, it's yours,
Lead to some galaxy afar,
Ride the crest, you are blessed
To name your very own star.

Sail high a heavenly chord,
Or a sonnet, a poet's rhyme,
Whisper it or shout it loud,
If you wish, in three quarter time.

I would render you a farthing
To embark of your poetic cloud,
But, any amount is not enough,
To honor a star that shines aloud....

I stepped through the
early morning door into a liquid-laden Spring-scene.

A three-quarter moon
gazed down wearing
it's gold ring of water

The air, chill, though
a burdensome thick
humidity hangs like a canvas bag

of sand
waiting to drop
onto the stage

No bird was heard;
all perched quietly beneath puffy cloud pockets;
waiting for lightening to pierce

and make them bleed....

She is night star beautiful
strawberry blond curls
illuminating royal cheekbones
hazel (eye)d
conversationalist supreme
bikini fit
the crown jewel on Mr. Deans
list

Lunchtime, she chose her seat carefully
her cherub face bathed in half shadow
in a strange three-quarter pose
like a nude model sitting for a con
artist

Forever single
the pretty girl with the glass eye
was lonelier than a night star...
i suppose...

In the Shade of It

whyndee road driftin' corners sidin' in
the seat set to leather back
body jacked tatted arm x two tapped
three quarter sleeve high
noon
crushin' it
chock-full of cager work credit
five o outrun
level up
2
a-downtown rev
Bok choi crates hand stacked
crooks' cracks double backed
glass pipe stream
in the sewer steam
delivery trucks double parked
pimps, hustlers
players
making the mark
in the shade of it
framed
Pinero Art

My heart beats out your name
In steady three-quarter time
This waltz of love sustains me
With the hope that you'll be mine
I dream of you so often
It's almost like you are
But almost can't do justice
It's woefully under par

Yet when I get to see you
My spirit soars to heights
Not humanly attainable
I'm passing stars in flight
That's the effect you have on me
In all the days I've lived
I've never met another
Who can give me what you can give...

Faded Sheet Music
Tear drops fall
between silent lines
carrying the tune
of this weeping melody
written on my heart’s
faded sheet music

Scales cry in sharpened flats
twisting treble clef sorrows
Candelabras drip pain
on withered fingers
roaming ivory slivers bleeding
out of tune syncopation

Unheard choruses
in three quarter sadness
wasted on black and white keys
played long after
the lid was closed
on our love

Where is that sustain pedal
when you need it?...

A LATE QUARTET

Sitting
Looking out
Nothing comes
Nothing goes

Twiggy windows
A weeping pine
Earth Moon
Mahler comes to mind

Sentimental lion
Spastic in sleep
A fractured three-quarter time
Dancing heavy feet

White hands
Stroking
Each vein
Blue-racing

Half-in
Half-out
A pot holder
Dangles in space

Little items
Like soldiers
Blend
Crush

Don Quixotic
Rushing at
Nowhere
So slowly

Time was
Was time
The two
Come together

Sitting
Looking out
Nothing comes
Nothing goes...

Cover Up Fashion
Why not grow, a goatee or a beard
if you think, you look really weird

Why not wear, those three-quarter shorts
if you think, your legs look like warts

Why not wear, no belt with your pants
if you think, your rear end is for glance

Why not put those studs on your body
if you think, you were born a zombie

Why not put tattoos on your skin
if you think, you’re in a tailspin

Why don’t you like, what you see in the mirror
if you think, that you are getting queerer...

21 Gms Or Three Quarter of An Ounce
Just soul of 3 quarters of an ounce:
Exist in earthly body,
Accomplish planned tasks,
Generate energy and leave;
Endure pain and joy,
During all my life;
Negative and positive both prevail,
React to ambiance surrounding mine,
Life was full of joy and sorrow,
Until I relinquished the body;
Caring friends and kins,
All accompanied up to burial,
Tears in eyes, gesturing bye;
But none knows I still exist,
Perch in hearts and ambiance;
Why and who am I?
