Faded Sheet Music

Tear drops fall
between silent lines
carrying the tune
of this weeping melody
written on my heart’s
faded sheet music

Scales cry in sharpened flats
twisting treble clef sorrows
Candelabras drip pain
on withered fingers
roaming ivory slivers bleeding
out of tune syncopation

Unheard choruses
in three quarter sadness
wasted on black and white keys
played long after
the lid was closed
on our love

Where is that sustain pedal
when you need it?

Thanks so much Darren. Yep, it's hard to play love songs without it.

The piano candelabra reminded me right off the key of Liberace. :) I hadn't a figgy what the sustain pedal was. Sad vibrations Chris. Always enjoy your musical talents mixed with poetry.

The sustain pedal holds the notes until they fade out. Liberace huh, and to think my sequined tuxedo is at the cleaners. :) Thanks so very much my poetic friend.

Yep, you can do that my friend. Piano is my favorite instrument to play. I'm glad you liked this one.
