Bullfrogdog
there once was a three legged dog
who thought he was a bullfrog
instead of a nap or a nip
he preferred a wet kiss
then had his way with a log...

On the blood wheel
Three-legged train grinds
Mindlessly delicious cuts

Collecting all manner of things,
From battered old derbies to rings,
He still couldn’t find,
It stayed on his mind,
A three-legged scarecrow that sings.

Lucky's Look
Three legged dog stuttered into the bar
Barked with a limp which most thought a flaw
He soon found his voice
and stated with choice
“I’m looking for the man who shot my paw”...

Boredom Or Bliss
Satin white lily pads
cushion the high jump
performed by the three-legged frog.
Heated blaze bakes his fading green coat.
He leaps into his hot tub paradise.
Life is floating by.
A big grin and loud croak announce his pleasure.
What appears to be boredom for one set of eyes ,
is bliss for another....

Deaf
softly she
speaks and
i being older
deafened by too
much Berlioz on level
eleven ask for forgiveness
she shuts
up but using
hand gestures
and finger figures
i seem to sum it up
about a three legged man
as the
rest goes
blank as instead
i try to read her toes
but they are plump and
sluggish my wish i sign i love
you...

One Autumn Night
This autumn night we'll have a harvest fest
With all the fixings it will be quite grand
The pie eating contest now starts things off
As each will eat until they win or drop
But it will end with the three legged race
The winning duo won by just a leg
While the harvest moon now shines so heavenly
Blank verse has an iambic pentameter but no rhyme...

Easy Way Out
suit jackals laugh with
both hands in cancellation.
traffic always stops for
a three legged dog.
dirty windows hold Christmas lights
the way an old woman saves the dress
three sizes too small.
excuse this rebellion,
a well thought out
gesture of fashion,with a hat,a brim
not as long as before.
another drunken tearful swollen cry
of no sorrow.
I've yet to buy one drink....

Three Legged Table
THREE LEGGED TABLE
We are a three legged table
But we can no longer stand
Our son’s no longer with us
And we try to understand
How to cope with our loss
Called to fight for our land
Sent out to the front line
To that unit undermanned
Now here we are just three
Not a future we’d planned
But the bombs keep falling
As waves of war are fanned
Both loving him and country
A blue and yellow armband...

Jeff The Three-Legged Worm
Jeff the three-legged worm
they weren’t his legs
but legs that he’d found
from old bits of twig
just scattered around
he once saw a centipede
who laughed and made fun
of a young and shy Jeff
stuck on his tum
but Jeff swam through soil
and the centipede saw
staring in wonder
amazement and awe
the twig legs put by now
but kept just in case
although Jeff seems ok
from the beam on his face
...

The Best Thing
To believe or deny,
enlightenment dares
Our lack of acceptance,
a three-legged chair
We feel it and breathe it,
and live it de jure
As minds are left gasping
at something so pure
At this very point
rejection sets in
Our spirit’s attacked,
the reasoning thin
Millennium’s secrets
will come and will go
But what can’t be explained
—the best thing to know
(Rosemont Pennsylvania: December, 2020)...

enlightenment dares
Our lack of acceptance,
a three-legged chair
We feel it and breathe it,
and live it for sure
As minds are left gasping

the reasoning thin
Century upon century
will come and will go

Same
All I waned was a show dog
A dog to run and play
A beautiful and talented dog
But it all changed the night
The night that three legged dog showed up
Like a gift from god
He’s weary limps weren’t beautiful
He couldn’t run but tried and I watched him drag his leg
But then he turns and runs towards me
And I forget everything I just thought
As he jumps into my arms
I hug him as though there is no difference...

Birds Without Wings
On your imaginary forces work
now seen a place with
Three legged animals with a soft palfrey canter
Air floating fish seen and their no need of water
The lovely birds flying would no need of wings
gods power just trusting resonance of their sings
God is all powerful and said without rules
imagination is false and followed by fools
Let us enter the world of Hieronymus Bosch
place of monsters chimeras beauty and tosh...

Orphan
Many a fond memory my heart does hold
Precious time spent with family
Always feeling loved and being told
The smell of freshly baked bread lingering in the morning air
Missing my Mom's cooking
Wishing I could still be there
Always feeling welcome and never out of place
Enjoying our family reunions
And the occasional three-legged race
My Mother and Father have since passed on
I'm now but an orphan
Since they are both now gone...

Talkin' To Joe
Remember the day we were playing
Cowboys and Indians in the barn?
Bert was sittin' on the three-legged stool
Milkin' the old cow,
Sam or you,
(Never me, I was always innocent)
Poked that cow in the butt
With a tobacco stick.
Oh, What a shout Bert let out!
We all flew to Granny and you screamed,
"Hide us quick, Mama, that old man's
Gonna kill us!"
She stuffed us all three under the "company room" bed.
We could always count on her......

30 Silver Coins
someone who knows every thing
betrays for nothing thirty
silver coins
we wouldnt know the saviour if
he messed up they branded
a hero a betrayer split his
bowels
thirty silver coins

made out of the ancient cross
thirty silver coins

lonely girl reading free verses
train of thoughts pass by whistling

Three Legged Table
I am three legged,
I am balanced,
It’s a mystery,
I sit in a dim-lit room.
I bear the sage's books,
Where he scripts his thoughts,
The monsters that stare through his window,
The gloom that pervades the meadow.
I am three legged,
The unseen pivots me,
The unknown trestles me,
I'm in a library of the deep.
I am a door into the day,
Prop and support along the way,
The sage takes off on my plane,
Nightfall embraces me.

Personification
Ginger
Ginger and I first met at a horse auction,
she was described as a strawberry roan
a gentle nature with a three-legged gait,
creating a bumpy ride because of this trait.
I learned to ride with Ginger hours at a time,
we were in cinque with leg commands,
she was not a fast quarter horse,
what a relief as she plodded the course.
Many years and miles passed along,
I remember my first horse with pride,
she was Ginger with an even soul,
who taught me to ride on the whole....
