Blowing In the Trees

Whistling winds woo
through thrashing twigs and shrubs.
Hitting, hollering, soon hushing
spring be springing sweet soundly winds
blowing in the deep dark of distant forests.

Premium Member Why Chinese Restaurants Are Always Open On Xmas

Santa's thrashing around in acute pain
No gifts due to bottlenecked supply chain
     What was Santa to do
     To achieve a breakthrough
He'd snap up packets of Chinese Chow Mein

Signature Silence

a remote forest,

its pond motionless, moonlit;

a sudden cloud of Mayflies

sweeps down across the water:

sudden, ghostly koi feeding

w/ thrashing and leaping,

only to vanish in time.

Premium Member Grey Blue Hue Oddquain

Grey
          far and wide;
     Many distinct shades,
the same as the thrashing sea;
                Blue
swirls from warm to a harsh chill
       above and below;
         lush sea foam
                 hue.

Premium Member Drowning

Icy darkness tightens its embrace. Flailing, thrashing, clawing, waning; implacable liquid death threatens to overwhelm. Grasped by unseen hands; propelled upwards. Surface breached! Sweet, sweet air!

Premium Member Absence Makes the Heart

Listen to poem:
Your absence hurts me,
Like a persistent toothache
Or a pair of too-tight shoes.
But, worse, your hard face,
When finally we meet,
Leaves me panicked, gasping:
A doomed and thrashing swimmer,
Drowning in your indifference.

Premium Member The Crippled

THE CRIPPLED

Walking toward foreshore
I saw the devil seated on a fence
Fishing
Next day I heard he got a thrashing
It was intense
Blood trickled from his core
He would fish no more
Baby and Mommy shark were out to score.

Leaves Falling

Leaf
Falling
To the ground
Under foot crunch
Thrashing sounds and cool
It takes my breath away

Bright colors mixed with brown---
The color of dirt
Life giving food
The earth's life
Pure, cool
Air

Awhipping

Wind’s a’whipping;
Branches thrashing.
Chairs are flipping;
Teeth are gnashing.

Garbage flying;
Scarves wrapped double.
Those home sighing,
Sweats and stubble.

Wind chill saying
It’s much colder.
Those out paying,
Being bolder.

Premium Member The Four Reasons I Run

These are the reasons I run.
One. A child is in danger and I need to save them.
Two. It is Black Friday.
Three. I see others running, and I feel fearful.
Four. There is a bear behind me thrashing around in the forest.
There is no other reason.

Tides In Your Eyes

Oh! You have inspired me,
for you have moved my heart,
as I see tides thrashing in your eyes
and an untold story in your heart,
waiting to find its way to my ears,
but in silence you gaze at me,
in waiting here I will be,
for your voice to reach me.

Grey Summer

summer

taken in the black of night

ruined

by darkness of thoughts

chained spirit thrashing

within the warmth of blood, bone, and breath

of me

Let it not be taken

open light please come through

bring back summer's bright heat

to me

sudden storm at sea
ship’s compass spinning around –
waves thrashing my boat

welcome beacon guides
to shore as if to heaven –
lighthouse shows the way

Splashing, thrashing, wildly bashing
     rages the rolling sea
like half-tortured Poseidon drowned
     in waves of misery!

In tempestuous, dark dead of night,
     a vessel from afar
plows through by dim, faint, speckled glow
     of north's Polaris star.

Given time may be changeable
However
Forever
Insatiable

Misses a beat when presented with strife

Etched with a promise
None but one can revive

Her Passion

(((?)))
her passion had me thrashing as she swirled inside my mind
blowing all my walls apart
collapsing space and time
she kissed me with such emotion that she became an ocean on my tongue
an effervescent lotion
a magic, seething potion
where my fears were duly hung

Incident

Not natural, this repose.
The others act at playing
in the sea. Dubbed-in laughter.
Who gave the ending away?

Cue sunset. Slow, moribund.

I think of darkness to come,
of blood and sharp cutting things.
And that large thrashing horror
just now breaking the surface.
