Polaris Star

Splashing, thrashing, wildly bashing
     rages the rolling sea
like half-tortured Poseidon drowned
     in waves of misery!

In tempestuous, dark dead of night,
     a vessel from afar
plows through by dim, faint, speckled glow
     of north's Polaris star.
