that can't be cured by manmade pills."

Won 6th place

MY CHILD

I watch my child at night
Before I turn off the light
To me, there's no greater sight

Our Homeless Plight

come, my child, let me hold you tight,
so I can keep you warm tonight.
I pray God ends our homeless plight.

My Mission

I strive to become great and not to be poor,
so when the needy comes I would open my door,
and bring corrupt and covetous fellows to the floor.

Sang's Riddle

Sang's riddle
~~~~~~~~~~~
When does a man both rise and fall?
How can one resist yet heed the call?
Who is the destitute yet possessor of all?
London's Burning
A chance of a job, set of fire
The boss of our nation, a liar
The rioters reasons expire
Love's Last Call - Triplet
Whenever he reeks of alcohol
I know he’s been on an angry crawl
To flush away heartache’s waterfall
Premium Member Mammalian Limitations
How does a mom feed her triplets?
By getting some kinda griplet
allocating teat to liplet...
….I guess.  Seems the math
suggests that this path's
more suited to bats.
Honey
Honey
~~~~~~
A lady sweet and tender, I can't help but care
This beauty so kind and true, it's real and very rare
She's a blissful waking dream beyond any compare.

Something Smells

Crap smells really bad no matter the shape or the color
Maybe black, brown, white, yellow, a woman or a feller
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover when you are the smeller

Mars

Perhaps there’s life on Mars,
With boats, TV and bars:
A world the same as ours.

With the possibility of underground lakes, could there be life on the red planet, after all?

Premium Member Animal Love

At Sea World whales kissed

     Animal love, what a twist

          Is there something most humans missed?

We are the only mammals who kill

     Simply for the thrill

          Is mankind short on good will?

True Love

A love that has lasted so long
Magnetic attraction this strong
Is a love that cannot go wrong

Your hot breath caresses my neck
Stimulation not kept in check
The outcome a disheveled wreck

The only true love of my life
Through happiness, heartache, and strife
My soul mate, my partner, my wife

An Un-Red Apple

An Un-red Apple
Color is what color is not It doesn't exist, can't be caught What color is a polka dot? An apple reflects red light Taking in all but red in sight So an apple is not red, right? Its every color but red You don't get what I just said Me either, its hurting my head.

The Sensual Side of Passion

The Sensual Side of Passion

Knows:
steamy
sensations
mind-tingling
luscious vibrations, romancing, dancing…

Eagerness excites hope as longings swell.
fantasy lives
reason dies
and love
wins.

Premium Member Cholesterol Done Him In

I will eat liver periodically despite doc's kvetch

   When I cease to function, upon my cold granite stone you may etch:

      "Too much cholesterol clogged the veins of this unfortunate wretch!"

A carcass lies upon the ground
On close inspection life is found

From death to life new cells conform

A single lost life, provides a feast
To feed the stong and very least

Nature is nourished no reason to mourn

Thought I was writing a Terzanelle on hope and ended up with a Tail Rhyme instead.
Being it is my only tail Rhyme I guess it is my favorite.

Querido

Fell asleep and woke up screaming,
You were there beside me dreaming
While we lay with reality streaming
On either side of the bed.

Phantoms through my psyche streaking,
You held me close to still the shrieking
The weight of it set your bones to creaking
And started pounding in my head.

We know our senses are deceiving
The only truth is in believing
That victory is achieving
Indifference to the dead.

Everybody Cries

In life, I know that everybody cries.
But I’ve never seen a tear from her eyes
Since her first breathed breathe, till the last breath dies.
Her small story was long and left unclear.
I won’t tell, from the rumors I had hear,
Not sad but surely made me shed a tear.
I learned from this story filled with reddish blue
That she did cry, even more than most of you.
But tears aren’t visible, till you look her through.

Premium Member Butterfly Flutter

Like an aerial butterfly flutter
The same your lips are caressing my face
And so my mind is lost in a clutter.

As a storm produced by butterfly grace
On environment acts out of control
So the sweet contact of lips can efface

My brain completely as a Champagne bowl.
A miracle is which makes me nutter
But it is love which just enters my soul.

As an aerial butterfly flutter
Renders my mind as lost in a clutter.

Let Few

Let few dangling words be unsaid
Let them remain unspoken
For if all is said what will remain?..

Let few painful feelings be unexpressed
Let then remain in the heart
For if all is expressed what will remain?..

Let few bitter tears be unshed
Let then remain in the eyes..
For if all is shed what will remain?..

Let few awesome mysteries be unveiled..
Let them remain in our life..
For if all is revealed what will remain?..

Premium Member Warm and Gentle Wind

A warm and gentle wind once in my life
Whispering told me that it was the day
I met by destiny my future wife.

A warm and gentle wind also today
Is soft whispering with a steady blow
To tell me that its whispering can pay.

A warm and gentle wind which made me grow
Whispering to predict a joyful wife
Is even warmer now with its kind flow.

A warm and gentle wind sure in my life
Helps to overcome any future strife.
