The All Shore State

A youth had come from La-na-i

He like to surf on Ka-ua-i

He slept on the plane,

Had no one to blame

Surfed on the isle of Ha-wai-i

A Surfing Dame

She stood on the ironing board frame
Where waves of clothes she’d tame
She surfed on thoughts high
Inside the barrel green room a dame
Landing on the blue waves she did fly!

No Fools This April

Bundles of lies come to being on first of April
To fool the World by mouth of words or writings
In March they commence packing lies to market
But not in this April
As a truth surfed in air in silence
Taking over the lies of violence!

our quintessence

the mooring rope of thought severed
we surfed silence unseen
self-aware
animating the void
between the pause of heartbeats
beseeching love to pair
whence betwixt strobes of bliss magnetism
vaporised presence transformed as light
declaring life’s game is but a dare

Once Upon a Crime

Once upon a crime,
lived a man wit no dime.
Before dinosaur time,
even surfed on lime.

Once you are up on a tree,
there lives a thot of bein free.
Not work or get anythin by a plea,
see the Police you flee.

Yes, yu are upon a crime,
its my heart you stole this tym.

The Death of Love

Love is something I have always
sort of accepted...just went with...
needing no manual, nor preacher
to entice me – I miss those days:
when a heart was free from hyper,
sonic bands, puncturing the eyes of
internal waves – those innate crests
I once surfed with mental impunity....

Far Away River

Old canoe surfed in the placid and crystalline water
Conveying a man to a wood house near the river shore
Where lies the far memories of a fructiferous life
Nestled for decades with the love poured by its habitant
Flowing in unison with the rapid and pristine streams

Rhymes With I'Ll

I'LL
SINGLE FILE
SOMEWHAT SERVILE
I WALKED THE MILE
STRAINED TO SMILE
ALL THE WHILE
I DISCARD THE GUILE
SWALLOW THE BILE
WITH HAPPY DENIAL
I REDUCE THE PILE
SORRY TO RILE
I'M NO ISLE
SURFED THE DILE
THIS 'CHILE
WALKED NO AISLE
LIFES A TRIAL
SOMETIMES INFANTILE
THROUGH THE TURNSTILE
WITH STYLE
I'LL
PLAY ANOTHER TILE.

When We Surf with Howie

with a short referee sparred
life of son had been marred
when he received a red card

tough thought tried to dawn
son Shawn who became a pawn
serve in Army had gone

longed to see a leaping lizard
being absorbed when big blizzard
turned Shawn into weird wizard

When Shawn would really rally
while he did dilly down in valley
for long time had surfed with Howie

Rock Concert

An octopus asked
a squid for some ink, to pen
a tentative tune.

Some turtles shelled out
for tickets sold by sharks.
Urchins snuck in for free.

The Sun dimmed the lights
on the Atlantic stage, as
dolphins waved moonbeams.

An orchestra of oysters,
pearl jammed with the mussels and
the clams crowd surfed.

A cool crustacean
grabbed the mic while a cod played
the bass on the rocks.

Sneezy wheezy

As my nose twitched,
before the coming sneeze,
time froze, anticipation heightened,
awaiting its inevitable release.

I surfed the bardo,
my thoughtless attention animated,
wherein fulcrum of tremors,
could not be located.

The tumbler did fall,
when I least expected;
I covered my face,
that others be protected.

As for the act,
expelling saliva and air,
it’s a learnt art,
I perform with flair.

Agatha Christie 1890-1976

er first time on a board, February 1922, was Muizenberg, South Africa, then again, in August, the lady surfed Honolulu, Hawaii, where, by Duke Kahanamoku, there may have been taught, and in Waikiki lost her shorts. Who would have thought, of all the girls in the whole wide world, she was the sort to shoot the curl. Tho' a novel way to spend the day, no crime this time, yet still a mystery, was the surfing passion of Agatha Christie.

Surfing Grandma

There was an old lady who liked surfing, but not the blue ocean was she lurching, she surfed the vast internet, and the gaming world she met. Gaming Grannie was making quite a stirring ! ______________________ July 18, 2022 Poetry/Limerick/Surfing Grandma Copyright Protected, ID 07-1474-361-18 All Rights Reserved, 2022, Constance La France Written for the Standard contest, Limerick sponsor, Lisa YY, Judged 07/19/2022 Third Place
