On the exit number 44 sign
On Highway number one
A crow sits perplexed
Trying to spell the word “FLY”
She stutters a moment

About a Stutter

If someone stutters that you meet
Just think of it like it's a treat
You might extol 
It's a drum roll
Keeping you on the edge of your seat!

The Writer In Me, Wants You To Know

I write to spread more than unease. 

As people gather and read that I am unpleased. 

With this world that stutters when they hear my condition. 

I am now free, though not in remission.

Timed Out

Time wends, stutters, stalls.
Time was when it flew.

Timeless are the dead stars
timed to the last moment
are the living.

Man is a faceless clock
on a blank wall.
In time, the deaf
tell the blind to see.

Oh, To Feel

I wish my thoughts were tangible,
Feelings frighten my fragile heart.
My emotions eager to escape,
I'm afraid to act out of antsy impulsion.
There's a chasm in my chest so capacious,
Even my conscience stutters.

Cold, Hot and Bothered

Cold Monday morning
 He mumbles under his breath
 Car engine stutters
 As he turns the key in vain
 Temperature is rising.

The green was bespeckled with putters
Till 'long came a singer, Miss Sutters
She started to sing
The golfers did swing
And now, poor Miss Sutters, she stutters

He hems and haws
  Nervous, fidgeting
Opens his mouth
  Nothing comes out

Palms turned upward
  He shrugs his shoulders
His eyes roll around
  In their sockets...

His voice wavering
  He stutters, stumbles
Wh-What k-k-kind of
  Qu-Question is that?

Rip Rap

constant brain feed 
constant feed my brain 
constantly in my brain 
I am in my brain
my brain is continually
going off and on, on
I own brain flutters
I claim brain stutters
my brain is cross-wired
In confusion I am mired



My brain waves experimental mic drop!!

Milking It

While others give grief,
a chocolate milk cow
often stutters, and how!
In her udder relief,
she utters “ca-cow”
while producing cacao,
tells the nutters,
Ciao, ciao.
Not one to chew fat,
a crow in the know
tells her, no, it’s cocoa
but she says he’s loco,
and a raven, at that.

Shallow Breeze Stutters - Day 19

shallow breeze stutters
severing saucy alphabeta
wielded wind weaves
into punctured pieces
fostering felon feasts
bounty blurs breed

locked lips split
aiding taunted trip
bruised breeze picked

smothered smithereens shudder
before fiery  filter
gaunt gifts trigger

helpless as confetti
helpless as feelings.

Astir

Iridescent crow wings
scatter ice particles, patches of air clatter.

Grackle claws engrave the frozen creek,
small owls emerge from blanching shadows,
fieldmice burrow into snow drifts.

A small stir in the flappable; facets
dazzle a dazed daylight.

A newly unearthed sky pauses to blink
life stutters, shimmers back
twice as bright.

Sound

Acoustic and raw, 
it doesn’t need additives;
Creeping up on you
so very unexpected,
the haunt in haunted rhythm;

Oh ravenous fiend
I can describe you as sound,
Acid on the drums;
Bouncers sit screening the door
not for I.Ds but hunger;

Inky bass line itch,
no words need to be written;
A Demon’s disco,
that sanctimonious scratch
electricity stutters.

Commentario

All week I watched them
Grotesque faces in the glare
Of stark red mayhem

Some false ablution
Not enough to cleanse us all
Self fails us again

Twitching on spikes
Smoked eyes dim blurring the cross
What purifies night?

What makes us like stars
When supernovas explode?
This fire's not enough.

All week hell stutters
Across white pages of pride
Mayhem stalks our dream.

How Did I even

Get here?

Because I Did Not Care To Write About the Snow

Because I did not care to write
about the snow
the blackbird pulls within itself,
sucking feathers into its vortex
like a footprint.

Surely there are meanings
to the ice-covered lake
turned white.  We write
the words with our feet,
not guessing their meanings.

In the snow
the blackbird remains black.

The sky stutters.
It does not know
the essence of the ice
locked below.
