What's the point?
What's the use of a spark
that stubbornly refuses
to ignite a flame?

Old voices echoed
Stubbornly until they drowned
Soft remonstrations
Old worn useless endearments
Rising waters held silence
U.S. Governors take a 'Hypocritic Oath'
Vowing stubbornly to be blind to both
Whatever contradicts their beliefs
Or might give their citizenry relief
Satan stubbornly, still stupidly schemes.'
God however has means.!
Earthly kings, dream evil dreams
religions preach..Such nonsense streams!
Yet! Only Jesus came; clean...!
In
August
sweltering
heat prevails as
summer stubbornly
digs in her heels,
refusing
to cool
down.

For Caren Krutsinger's August
Ninette contest
A woman catches lonely Jim's eye, but she tells him...
she's taken, yet he stubbornly fights to win her affection
That's Jim, he always wants something he can't have
Night kept me close to her heart
Refusing stubbornly to let me go
While day anxiously was awaiting
My self into her arms to throw!

When we first met
You were impossibly irritating,
And yet, so stubbornly persistent that,
Like a piece of grit in an oyster,
You just stayed put,
Until, over time,
We created something beautiful.
Rebellion is a storm It rumbles
Tossing, scouring and rolling stubbornly
It tears here and smashes there
It roars and maul ferociously like a hungry lion
On it is trail ruins and destruction tell its tale
opinionated
stubbornly unique
determination
some say old school
wizened and wily
unpersuasive
immovable
often hard-nosed
antiquated
obsolete
intensive
old-fashiioned
antique
common
me
Saw one squirming out of the drain
Was it an earthworm or a baby snake?
Must it think the loo a posh place?
Tried washing it back to its home
Stubbornly held on, refused to go
Perhaps its left its past life below?
Of all the birds, both foul and fair,
You stubbornly refused to wear
Full mourning at the Crucifixion,
And were cursed with this affliction:
Piebald broods of raucous young,
The devil's laugh on every tongue.
How ca I retire
So soon ?
How can I rest
Hastily ?
I am not drowsy
Nor am I fatigued.
I dictate
Stubbornly
To silence death
I resist
To escape the doom.
Away from the grave
I vamoose
Away from the edge
I whizz.
Drencho POET Loads.
Facts are precisely what they are,
Indisputable;
Stubbornly enduring stains.
Pour gallons of bleach
To completely submerge in bucket,
Fat chance; the stains remain.

The trees were thick, their needles sharp
As I stubbornly fought my way.
So heavenly, I heard a harp
The scene in the clearing that day.
Jagged peaks in lake reflected,
Astounding because unexpected.
For John's contest "A Nature Verse"
Some wise persons in power,
Perhaps they are not blind,
went to see an elephant.
They declared,"An elephant
is like a wall."
Other people also went
to see the elephant
and described it correctly.
But these persons in power
stubbornly clung to their claim.
In pastoral lands
With green fields abound
And high hilltops to search and explore
The old man sheep stubbornly stands
All alone in wind and rain
The shepherd looks on and idly wonders
Whether the wether, will weather the weather,
or whether the wether will not
Café tables on terrasse drenched in rain ~
everyone’s indoor as if on hold
waiting impatiently for the sun to come out.
April showers bring may flowers
but we aren't happy to pay the price ~
meanwhile the rain stubbornly won't let up.

Sometimes Sister Sarah seems subjugated
Sometimes she seems simply silly,
Sometimes she suddenly screeches shrilly
Sometimes she sounds sophisticated,
Sometimes Sister Sarah shrugs surreally.

[playing with words when my muse
was stubbornly aloof!]
To all those who have placed entries in the above contest
I am unable it seems to finalise the contest I have chosen
Winners and locked it.' Yet the finalize button stays stubbornly
Dull.' I will keep trying to work through this it's not the first time
I've encountered it.'God bless.'
I haven't any motives to bind me
I'm on a greasy pole
unable to encounter the top
Conscience is for somber occasions
A dream is a foolscap
Yesterday was a brown envelope day
Waiting for Mr Goodbar
My conversations have run dry
I lost my credentials
Now we are stubbornly erstwhile
Society is not only ignorant. It is generally cowardly. Society and it's foolish cronies generally preach justice, freedom, and equality and yet too often practice injustice, promote slavery, and stubbornly too often insist on inequality.Welcome to hell, but I would prefer heaven, thank you.
a stain doused with bleach,
scrubbed with power grout brush
yet stubbornly remains.
confrontation with a mind made up...

It was then when the passion burned
Hidden there subtly this desire yearned
To break free from those bonds to hold
And embrace a secret love, to be told
Smother the fire of this passion’s hold
And let it flow into two hearts openly
But no, we knew this couldn’t be
To just let it die, let it die if it will
Stubbornly though it lives on still
