From End To End

deep
inside
your soul
is
endless sky
from
end to end
stretch out
those
wings
to
capture
the
wind
again and again

Premium Member Cat Takes Us Hostage

The cat can stretch out anywhere
In grass or gravel
In catnip patches

However he has a favorite spot
In front of the front door
Holding us hostage

A Song of Spring

Wake now from slumber
  'neath cool earth
stretch out thine arms
  for all thou’st worth.

And clasp the heavens
  to thy heart -
new season’s children
  now thou art.

making whoopie while social distancing
a most magical and wonderous feat
but you must have a long tool
or become the town fool
as you plead with and stretch out your weenie

SUMMERTIME

Summertime is here
Summertime is here
I won’t shed a tear
Because summertime is here
I’m going to have fun
I’m going to have fun
Jump around and run
And stretch out in the sun

Magical Sun

Shadows cast by Sun

Stretch out long in morning glow

From the grand giraffe

To the smallest lowly ant

Sun embraces, kisses all.

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Thoughts From the Clouds

Endless White, billowed dreams of squatting men,
I stretch out to grasp an insubstantial floating sky,
A fluffy purgatory, a Grayscale cycle revolves again
Forever out of reach, I extend arms, choosing to fly.

Lord We Go On To Mars

mars
stretch out
your
red falcon wings
we feel
your
back to the wind
your eyes
your feathers
are
orange flames,
that
soar
through
pink salmon sky
in ships
that
we crafted
oh lord
we go on to mars

I'M a Tree

I’m a tree
That stands tall
Focus on every curb
Of my body
 My curbs tells
The story of
My ups and downs
My successes and
All my failures that
Helps my branches
To grow and to stretch out
I’m that tree

Close your eyes and see the light within

Plug your ears and hear your inner voice

Stretch out your mind and touch the unseen

Inhale God's breath and let your heart rejoice!

Premium Member If I Were 19 Foot Tall

If I were nineteen foot tall I would not need a ladder
I could stretch out across the top of my car
And look for a ball under it.
I would never need high heels
And I could pat a giraffe on the head
And gloat because I was taller than him.

Casi

Her barely wings stretch out loud
With hopes of landing on a cloud
She eyes a launch her perch so proud
All aeries watch as if a crowd

A sanctuary set so sky
There is no land seen in her eye
Only twigs and leaves are why
She must go now or never try

Premium Member Fall In Quietness

Fall, fenced lane, warm sun,
leaves rain except for one.

Gnarly tree stretch out limb
reaching free, soften dim.

Somber swing hangs alone,
wish children bring, grace shown.

Eternal Devotion

Wanting to stretch out my time with you
Each day seems to fly by
Trying to savor every moment with you
"Time is too short", I cry
Living my short, precarious life with you
One day it will be goodbye
Seeing something new each day with you
"Eternal devotion", my sigh

Funny Thing About the Yard

It’s always behind or in front

seems it needs a door to get to

never complains when it rains

pleasantly, pets poop & pee

friends & family cross to hug me

my connect out there

in the back and front

it’s what I have now for all the hard

that stretch out there

the yard

The Lonely Tree

evening colors paint the sky
and paint my world

my arms stretch out, reaching
to paint this darkness
and color this emptiness
so i no longer feel
alone

the tree that spoke these words....

Premium Member Poetry Wakes Me

Poetry wakes me from my dead dreams.
I am like a woman who has been entombed.
My eyes pop open in a vampire-ish way.
My arms stretch out of my coffin bed.

What do you want? I ask Poetry.
Irritated, I look around in the dark.
Where is he? Where did he go?
Giving me only the last line again. I hate that!

Friday longs for the old days
Happy hour
Chinese food
A respite from tedium’s tedium

Saturday begs to stretch out
Sleep late
Brunch

Sunday bids us
To church
Touch the soil
Connect
With life

Monday shouts

Tuesday answers

Wednesday wishes
For Friday

Thursday moves aside

When I Do Not Have You

i am thinking of you, until when.

when. not seeing you.

i stretch out my hands (like a blind man)
stepping on sounds -
pieces of glass underfoot

keeping you pierced in my heels. until

when. i can't hear you.

i soften your steps with my lips

when. i don't touch you.

i don't touch yourtouch.

until

i cry

Part the Sea

I hunger for time alone with you
my spirit is thirsting after your love
for I cannot bear
the emptiness much longer
stretch out your hands
and part the sea
let my Egyptians fade away
so I can embrace my Promise Land
flowing with your milk and honey
that restores everlasting peace
love and fulfillment
into my love sick spirit

Worried Little Blossoms

Blossoms in the trees,
Worried their color too dim,
Stretch out for more light.

Technically not a Haiku due to the personification, though it is in the traditional Haiku 5-7-5 line format. Thanks!

Premium Member In a World Without You

each day
i live to push away
the thought
that one day
i may face
a world without you

so i strive to live in the moment
stretch out the present
incorporate love gratitude
as to never once regret
yet the day will come
but what’s to gain from worry
