Little Robin
Little robin
Outside my window
Sprightly hopping
Along the hedgerow
Red breast in the snow.

Paul Revere
There’s a ripe, young sun
Swinging the gardens today.

There is a sprightly, young sun
Touring the faces of revelry.

There’s a sheepish, young moon
Carrying the smirk of a virgin
Awaiting her Paul Revere....

Upon My Love
I had been running after a sky,
and by a very fast fly,
I stood above it sprightly,
shockingly
when it was falling into the earth.
Now I am in the high sphere
but my sky is
degradingly down to the world....

Church bells rang in stark fanfare

Ghosts gleamed sprightly rescue flare

Bones crumbled the dance on immortal grave

Scavengers of death forgot to behave

Until souls gave them a scare

Premium Member Swanly Fawn Upon a Pond
Skating so serene like a splendid, sliding swan
upon an ice pond, softly as a spry sunrise at dawn,
Shawn saw some splendid surprise, seemed soft as sleek chiffon,
a sight so shrouded, light as snow white, a striking, sprightly fawn.

Little candle burning brightly
Tiny sparrow, O, so sprightly,
A cheery hello from a friend
A helping hand so quick to lend,
Little pleasures can make my day
Turning gloomy thoughts to gay,
And lift my spirits to the cloud
Making me feel, O, so proud.

sprightly songbird
“The sound of birds stops the noise in my mind.”
— quote by Carly Simon
----------------------------------------------------
I see pair of red-whiskered bulbuls
with wrong-end rouge, spikes, eloquent note
gurgling - spinning love, singing the loop,
billing, bowing, chattering. I swoon

Devoid Stillness
Really I am glad to see one of the bright stars shines again
Out of the sorrow, obsession, suspect, and that leaden pain
What inside is in fact inside that lovely heart and clear mind
Should not look at the dark cloudy sight and get going to find
More internal sense of life and its sprightly meaning and stillness....

Premium Member Clench of the Hand
The clench of the hand
when greed holds a man:
tightly.
Once not in command,
aligned with God’s plan:
lightly.

The battle of will
to hold tighter still:
nightly.
The feel of the thrill
just learning to chill:
sprightly.

I'D Gave Him My Heart
Lips, soft as a shadow.

Devouring my very soul.

I didn't care. I couldn't care.

I'd gave him my heart.

Eyes, blue as a spirit.

Observing my imperfections.

I could change. I did change.

I'd gave him my heart.

Fingers, sprightly as a fairy.

Surrounding my body.

I wouldn't move. I couldn't move.

I'd gave him my heart....

Morning solitude is best
The once dark margin of the sea
is all at once, a sparkling pleasure

To hear the  sprightly magpies
as they wander over dewy grass
warbling a wealth of sound
the like of heaven

Air so fresh it equals joy
and the jewel in the crown;
on the vacant lot beneath the sign -
a lily has bloomed....

My Muse
Far yonder Never near From a distance taunting and beckoning like a temptress teasing like a whimsical, sprightly wind Just out of reach like a dream now here now gone. Is it Illusion or wistful whim? Why does she leave me in a barren state?

In the lull of twilight

below the unified realm of distant shaded shapes -

and the sprightly sea breeze dies
as night slays the day

Dancing Dragonflies
I watched them across the water prance,

Back and forth in sprightly dance.

Liveried in emerald green, others had a sapphire sheen.

It was natural choreography, by tiny acrobats

As they hovered through the reed beds, hunting bugs and gnats.

A mastery of flight, a ballet in the sky,

How mesmerising to sit and watch, dancing dragonflies....

My Word You Do Look Queer
You’re ninety two, well blow me down
I never would have guessed
You look so young and sprightly
And seem so full of zest
You’ve got your hair, its all your own
Your teeth are yours, not false
The way you talk, it’s obvious
Your mind’s intact, of course
What’s that you say, I’m sorry
Sometimes I can’t quite hear
It’s fifty two, not ninety
My word you do look queer
