cars build up their speed 
racing past troopers 
who don't know 
which one to pull over...

Tailgaiters and speeders
Scream and yell, you can all go to he** ....
Until they get past you,
Then they start their ranting and snarling 
All over again!...

Souped-up rolling solid shields
for little tiny cars.
Speeders breezing through the wind
for living honored stars.

Racers whizzing through the current
tingling from their blood.
Frightened feeling they can't stop
accompanying them to fud....

There are slower vehicles on the road you have passed. 
You are moving down this road a bit too fast. 
You have had points and moving violations in your past. 
The police love to catch speeders like you. 
If they suspend your license, what are you going to do?

The cops are on the roads today
And this is why, I’d bet,
Their ticket quotas for the month
Have not been filled quite yet.

This is the last day of the month
And so the pressure’s on
To catch some speeders in the hours
Before the day is gone.

We saw them nabbing five or six;
All slowed without a fuss.
I’m glad they nailed those other cars
And had no time for us....
