Real Cross

He was crucified at half-passed seven
Speared in the gut around eleven
At half-passed three
He had to wee
So knew he was not yet in Heaven

Speared Ice

Snow sprinkles rooftops

melts into water.

Water runs its path

to the edge of the roof,

water drips,

forms a line of ice spears.

The water stops dripping,

for now it is frozen.

Icicles dangle from rooftops,

threatening to fall,

Shatter.

Cafe Creatures

from her handbag
she took some
prescription pills
while some frustrated
sexual fantasy
crawled up the ladder
in her silk stockings
and began sucking
at her ********
as she sipped
on her coffee
and speared the final
remains of the stale
chocolate cream cake

I Am High

With selflessness endeared
And egoism feared
All human hope is speared.
Except for one.
I am that one.

I am high
On one ounce
Of I.

I am the growth
Of I.
Others are addicted
To we.
They have no selfish
Creed,
But smoke their selfless
Weed.
I am the flower
Of I.

Glimpse

A glimpse of leaves trembling in the wind.
   Shinning waters glistening.
   Shadow bird singing.
Devil Stick crawling with Virginia Creeper.
   Buds speared by humming birds.
Rabbits thumping in waves of green.
   Breezes changing the view.
   A glimpse into something new.

Retold Journey

Insane
I turn around
an amputee

to live, for not living
fighting the inner war
speared,
lacerated,
like neanderthal in cave

my weapon
the serrated moon
cried in fluted dark

a glimpse of bare bones
the ash of a bleeding dawn
my shuttered courage
in urn
there was only one evening

With a Lessening of Light

I pressed a barb
under my tongue
to remind me

I pierced glass
into my heart
to awaken a story

as blood dripped
a memory formed
in the pain and suffering
an effigy wavered

then I knew
some stories
should never be told
and forever remain

locked under my tongue
speared into my heart
and silent in eternity

The Rain and Vanished Fishes

The rain came down,
The pond overflowed through village paths.
The fishes, reared with patient care,
Swamed to freedom.

They darted through rills and drains,
Caught in casting nets,
Some speared in the yards,
Where rushing streams swept by.

The farmer, with hurried stride
Through drains and rills,
Tried to catch fish,
Casting his gaze with weary aim,
Pondering where the fishes gone.

This Is It

Sad puzzle fits
Now bit by bit

Sad story ends
Now by the bend

Sad lovely scene
Gone with the wind

Sad touching dear
Brined with such tears

Sad motifs poke
Speared by harsh yoke

Sad worry nude
Can feel so crude

Sad troubles peak
As pain now speaks

Sad bitter truth
Defy mere proof

Sad timely tale
Confront no sale

Heartbreak Hotel R B

I was speared by a Cupid star gazer
More likely the devil's hell-raiser !
With much mischief, his darts,
like his poems, would impart
a wit that's as sharp as a razor !

It's time for his shame to repent !
The Soup wants to charge you some rent
Your arrow and name,
that flared with hot flames,
died out, and I'm here to lament !

Blood Moon

Beautiful,
The roseate glow
Of the lunar moon
The light it shed
Touches the earth
O! a coruscating brilliance
A touch of red,
It could mean love
Love?
Perhaps the moon
Has been speared,
Ran through with cold steel
Shedding scalding tears
In gory pool
Sun,
stars
And other heavenly bodies
Have you done this?
Have you killed our moon?
Why does she glow in gore?
Will she breathe again?
Will she glow
To lit our inky night again?

Lizzie

She lays there dying in here mother's arms. Only an hour old.
So innocent. So pure.
Doesn't know how cruel the world can be.
She will be speared this feat.
Her mother will forever grieve.
Never forgetting that fateful day.
Wishing it had happened differently.
Then again glad it happened the way it did.
There she lays in her mother's arms dying.
Taking one last final breath in her only hour of life.
So innocent; so pure.
Never knowing this cold cruel world.

Iraq

you enter into my innermost calmness
chafed naught a crawling grapevine
and speared mustered seeds I'd beckoned
your tenderness your infamous timely
sorted kisses morbidly missed over time
driving over gravel searching for hidden
scents of blushing rosebuds that catered
to my senses why I'd explored your shyness
that emptied my kindness beyond a darkened
cave a sinking floor causing me to blush
beneath the mauve sky hidden
along Baghdad's humble shoreline
