Speared Ice

Snow sprinkles rooftops

melts into water.

Water runs its path

to the edge of the roof,

water drips,

forms a line of ice spears.

The water stops dripping,

for now it is frozen.

Icicles dangle from rooftops,

threatening to fall,

Shatter.

You have described our recent snowfall on the east coast of the US quite well with these relatively few words.
