Blood Moon

Beautiful,
The roseate glow
Of the lunar moon
The light it shed
Touches the earth
O! a coruscating brilliance
A touch of red,
It could mean love
Love?
Perhaps the moon
Has been speared,
Ran through with cold steel
Shedding scalding tears
In gory pool
Sun,
stars
And other heavenly bodies
Have you done this?
Have you killed our moon?
Why does she glow in gore?
Will she breathe again?
Will she glow
To lit our inky night again?
