In you I take solace
For your thoughts reign my

Emerald moss back stones
Drenching sunlight trickle
Where I rest my mind

Eyes fixed on the past
Looking back on solemn days
Heartaches bred sorrows
Yet the sun smiles down on me
I found inner peace with God
Tar burnt soles and toes
sprint to the shade of the palm
Coconut brown skin
begs the clear sky for solace
but the sea ate all the clouds...
Solitude does not always mean l am lonely
For I often seek solace from the noise
time for reflection, healing and prayer

quiet pillows
ebon noisemakers
brass-blows, red-green drums
tympanic lament of grief
solace throws on brown sofa
Trees and branches sway.
The power has moved outside.
The house is too still.
A wren chirps sweetly,
defying chaotic winds--
innocent solace
