Xox World

Apples like red hearts,
soak up sunshine to taste sweet...
their color's passion.

Lovers' hands will feel
tenderness beneath their skin...
the joy of dreamers.

I Know, We Gotta Have Rain Too

What I’ve got against the rain is not the drippy wet,
because it hasn't melted me, well, at least not yet.
It’s those clouds!
Gloomy shrouds.
I’d rather soak up sunshine and turn it into sweat.

Colours

CHOCOLATE melts in my hands,
so I eat an OLIVE instead.

While smelling the pungent scent of LAVENDER
ORCHIDS soak up the sun.

Reflected off an ULTRAMARINE sea,
the evening is ROYAL PUPRPLE.

Brilliant and shining, the flower moon graces the sky.
It is awesome, majestic, and candy for the eye.
Go outside and soak up some of those magic moonbeams,
For on a flower moon, you may be granted your dreams.

Premium Member A Renewed Hope- El

A renewed hope in full bloom
From earths ear marked little corner
A bud has begun to bloom
Morning dew caressing petals
Rising to open fully
She dares to soak up the sun
A renewed hope in full bloom

Premium Member A Corner of the Garden

In a corner of the garden,
I soak up the morning sun,
And I see a purple martin,
Singing 'til day is done!

Jasmine and orange roses,
Lend scent to sunshiny air.
Pink lilacs and primroses,
Allow the daydream flair!

Nothing special

I wish I could go back in time
Stay a little longer soak up some sunshine
Coming home to you was the best
I only saw the blessing and never the test
You gave up you quit
To me your nothing special just like the rest

Premium Member A Beach Cat When I Grow Up

I believe I will be a beach cat when I grow up she said.
Mrs. Lounge Layer, with striped fur with tinges of red.
I will lie on my chair, with my fluffy cat feet in the air.
And I will soak up those Vitamin D’s through my head.

Premium Member Shifting Sands

Listen to poem:
fog and rain at the beach
until the sunshine returns

sand crystals soak up
each ray and twinkle

and soon the breeze
renders its warm caress

sands shift almost giddy
without a care in the world

At a Loss For Words

My mind sighs blackberries
and a moonstruck melody
plays along my spine
as I soak up the fruited juice
of I love you coloring your lips.
The cherry blush of breathless,
And a smile amid the wash
Of blueberry eyes, should indicate
My intended reply.

One hard, metal frame
Split box spring; mattress stacked upon
"500 count-thread" fitted sheet
Flat, satin sheet; neatly spread above all
6 pillows, 3 additional decorative cushions
One oversized, cold, striped bedspread
One Body, to soak up all the comforts?

Creativity and Style

Just to be free
To soak up the peacefulness of the sea
Is truly a blessing to me
I am so grateful to God
For supplying the world
With so much love and beauty
For the eye to see
From ocean to land
Woman to man
Baby to child
And all of the animals and critters running wild
Boy does our God have creativity and style

Indulging Winter Days

Its winter time again, and
Jack Frost pinched my nose, and
Squeeze my very toes

Clinching tight my cozy jacket
I ran inside to soak up heat, and
Pour a cup coffee

Rubbing my hands and toes
Sitting by the fireplace
They start to burn and tingle

Chilly winter days
We burn away the frost
Indulging gentle touches

NEW YEAR

a clear slate with chalk
don’t bollix up the board
with mathematical equations

let it snow from erasers
applauding forgiveness

let your words wander
from coast to coast
covering the pristine green

let arm circles soak up
all the carbonized words
and begin again

with resolution

Premium Member My Natural Habitat

My natural habitat is outside
Why would anyone want to be anywhere else?
I had forgotten how peaceful it is
God’s sunlight saturates my pores in a loving way

My backache and neck ache are readily disappearing
I am here, and it is wonderful as I feel her rays
I soak up the sun the way a cat does
Protecting my belly and lollygagging

hidden away from our sight

August Wind

You blow
Sweeping away
The dead leaves
And
Memories;
Sweet and bitter,
Off
Making both
Nature and I
Despondent
Allowing
The Sunlight
To soak up
The wet
Making
The land
A wasteland
Beasts running
Behind mirage
In quest of
Water until
Die
No more
Rainy clouds, buds
And bees
No happiness
But
The barrenness

The Ladybugs and I

A ladybug is crawling
As the autumn leaves drift down.
Then suddenly, two more appear;
I thought that they’d left town.

But Google told me otherwise
For ladybugs, it said,
Enjoy a sunny day in fall,
Since winter lies ahead.

They love to come soak up the rays
As I do, when I’m chilled.
Today, the ladybugs and I
Are equally fulfilled.

I Feel His Heart In Mine

Pain drips from the cracks of my broken heart
They look at my face but are blind
I know were never truly apart
As I sit today he crosses my mind
I feel his heart in mine.

My cheeks soak up these past do tears
The hurt so deep it can never heal
They’re coming to life, all my fears
It’s still not real, it’s so surreal
I feel his heart in mine.

Premium Member I'Ve Solved One Climate Change Issue

About climate change and its effects there has been a lot of chatter.

One concern is that the sea-level is rising and I think I know the matter.

My research reveals that there is a dearth of sea sponges, (that is my notion).

We need to increase the growth of sponges to soak up the water in the ocean!

(Concocted with considerable tongue in cheek!)
