Spring around the corner.
white double daffodil

Spring
showers
bring flowers
as Irises
Lilacs, Trilliums
Tulips, Snowdrops
and Pansies,
sprout in
Spring.
snowdrops glow so bright
in the midst of misty chill ~
snowflakes rain like bliss

white on white piercing
green shoots of blades prevailing
a wintry edging
ice crystals thawing
thriving snowdrops replenished
spring’s intimacy

Bride Earth's pearly sleets
Sheeny snowflake embellished
Moonlit Snowdrops gaze!

when march kisses earth
white carpet infinity -
meadow with snowdrops
I remember snowdrops
in the fledgling spring,
in the veins of sleet
where the mill torrent raged.
How bejewelled cobwebs
to the reeds would cling,
and how all but that memory
has aged...
splendiferous spring
raindrops quench thirsty snowdrops...
white morphs into green

A New Nature-Themed Haiku

The snowdrops pop their heads out of the ground
The earth has thawed so they'll just look around
Just when they think its safe
Snow gets dumped on their face
As winter sneaks back in without a sound
Aconites gazing into the sun
'neath catkins dangling,finely spun
Awakened mammals desert their holes
rummaging midst the hazel boles
Long twilight days in winter's shade
tomorrow..brings snowdrops in the glade
Aconites gazing into the sun
'neath catkins dangling,finely spun
Awakened mammals desert their holes
rummaging midst the hazel boles
Long twilight days in winter's shade
tomorrow..brings snowdrops in the glade
nature
iron cold grips the valleys and highlands
with snow - the winter's offspring -
snarls at sassy snowdrops

Rebirth
pushing forward
like the Phoenix rising
from its crusty crypt of ashes
to soar again and sing its song of Spring
Earth erupting in luscious life
snowdrops sigh with relief
splendorous Spring
Rebirth
Earths
Seasons
Will enthral
When
Snowdrops
Defy chills
To
Springtime
Daffodils
And
Summers
Loud fanfare
Till
Autumn
Leaves reprise

struggling through the snow
saluting Valentine's Day...
smiling pansy face
small snowdrops emerge
acknowledging coming spring...
with welcoming nod

Hope Poked
Snowdrops of hope have poked through the frost
A sign which tells us all is not lost
White, green and sprightly
Spreading cheer brightly
With bells of glory Earth is embossed.

peeping through the thawing soil
one single snowdrop

Blossoms to the spring
Through meadow among small lamb
Wraps the globe in light
Intoxicated fragrance
Garden bursting with snowdrops

Schneeglöckchen / Snowdrops / Campanillas de las nieves
Zaghaftes Weiß
Die ersten Schneeglöckchen
Nach langem Winter
Timid white
The first snowdrops appear
After a long winter
Tímido blanco
Las primeras campanillas
Después de largo invierno
With your sudden guise
giving Shirley poppies seeds away
To Welford for the snowdrops
in mid February
a hushed garden
with done, knuckled buddleia
rose hips nipped
no surplus food for the birds
Spring like weather
down the South
no snow to contend
