Premium Member Sober Love

Quiet sober love
rises with the morning Sun;
Unspoken desire
lingers from the night before;
Small talk has found the silence.

Quick with the small talk;
Surrounded by attention,
still you stand alone;
Your broken heart in your eyes;
Do you see me? I see you.

Hurting Small Talk

Hurting Small Talk

Sometimes gossip sprouts
Sowing deceptive stories.
Seeming true, but not—

Laundromat, 9:12 P.M.

Sixteen unique individuals
sit on sixteen washing machines.

As they make small-talk
they stare at sixteen dryers, all in a row
chugging and churning to the same hum.

Frost and Thoreau were going for a walk.
Frost said I can make a poem from a sock.
Thoreau laughed hard
At this braggish bard
Published a poem from this crazy small talk.

a tender smile

releases
        a tense tang,
a humorous

Small Talk

I nod my head and smile again
The burning creases brand my skin
A scar I will forever wear
There's nothing left to talk about
Pretend to hear; pretend to care
I fear my words have all run out.

Small Talk

The truth of life
Is hidden in your small talks
Now look at the views
On the photo how peaceful it is
For today's running time
It becomes emotional
To stay among the loved ones and talk.

Listen to poem:
(Another childhood or teen years poem.)

Newsprint small talk
in Mediocrity's lead pot
rustles and gossips while,
splashed spectacularly across
the speckled page of
Society's intellect,
a murder making column one
hides the hushed massacre
of minds.
Form: Epigram

Small Talk

I have longed for a visitor, to knock upon my door
and indulge me with stories,
from another shore.
Someone with whom,I may wile away the hours,
conversing about life...
not just the rain showers

Inside I’m an emerald empath
Now I can be myself at home
Teal reveals my polite laugh
Ready to red reveal if not alone
Onyx opinions kept close to chest
Violet dimensions personal preference
Every party is like a pop test
Rendezvous with raspberry reference
Thankful for small talk and concession

Listen to poem:
Small Talk Delayed
David J Walker

The days dawn falling in
Uncertain brokenness

Strangeness
came in waves
of multicolored
Cool sunrays

Nothing would be the same
		He said
But nothing ever is

Instead
	Of small talk delayed

The gardener went about
his business
Pruning the garden

Small Talks on Long Walks

small talks
on long walks
reminds me of love
enjoying the view
with a lover
puts my mind at ease
small talks
on long walks
taking in
the summer breeze
writing our names
in the sand
praying they won't wash away
like on a driveway with chalk
if there's one thing
i enjoy with you
it's small talk
on a long walk

Grappling to make small talk:

     “Good morning,” he begins.

“Gee, I like your cute socks”

Good grief don’t speak to me…

                    Gaining back my pale face

                         Gynecologist gaff!

Vice Versa

oh my, you're splendid
like a fern growing backwards
„you hack writer“
you're a castellanus at 9 PM
after the dinner rich in miracles
hate re-living the mundane moments
over
   and over
           and over
                   and over

so sick of the everyday small talk.
still magnetized by the oddities.
this is the right way, not vice versa.

So much to say,
So little time;
Rush through each day,
No time to rhyme.

So much to do,
So many things;
To win and woo,
No time to sing.

So much to gain,
So put things off;
Bear hurts and pains,
Live with odd cough.

So much to live,
No time for grief;
So give and give,
For life is brief.

Premium Member Distant Shores

Crashing waves on the rocks
And Smelling salt water air
As I walk towards the docks
Sightseeing boat tours appear

I partake the tour on a whim
Making Small talk with people
forgetting my woes with some gin
Life is feeling more simple

In the distant shores I see
My lover with his new beauty
I think about jumping ship
but I will just have another sip

Small Talk Xxiv

*************Note: Life Is A Trampoline***********

      It is a fool who
  Puts' ideas' into His
        Own Head
            -And-
Then bounce around
   On an Trampoline

               GF

Morrow: Though life has it's own
             Ups' and Downs'
             Be prepared......
             For that bounce'
             Before you hit the ground.....

Loose

Years of Silence without cause
Many using all you are
No way to relieve all the bull
Taking it with a grain of salt
Keeping real thoughts
Small talk of ones who can not
Needing to bring others down
Living for the moments of one
Who can
Does and will
Come through all their thrills
The victory short lived
Winner rises again and again
Uncaring the opinions
