The Lone Starfish
The lone starfish writhes,
Forgotten by the vast sea-
It shrivels like skin....

Flame for a candle to break darkness into romance
Intolerant to the things that smother and extinguish
Rampages all and shrivels anything in its path into ashes
Eternally bounded with Satan in the depths of hell...

Premium Member Pineal Eye
Behind thine eyes there hides in thy mind,
A pine-shaped thing that sits atop the spine.
Glowing in the evening like a worm or firefly,
It grows in the dark, yet it shrivels in the night.
Feel upon the fore of your head the pounding pulse,
Of its beat with the heart, both contract and convulse....

Bats
Shadows almost swift
Beyond learning's reflection
Quivered from the eaves

I thought thatch did smell
Strange upon the nose urban
And made words polite

Hanging on child's eye
Though the myth dead came to life
And blood shrivels still

What song when they're gone
Shall spread my relief like stars?
Bats drove black the sun....

Hate
Hate, is like Shakespeare's last sound;
A mouses' whisper, it falls to the ground.

You never know it's there, it stays and lies;
And when you catch a glimpse, it shrivels up and dies.

You don't understand, I'm not trying to feel this for you;
But even now, my emotions are so true.

Once again, my heart is going to bust;
Now there's just hate, left lying in dust....

Premium Member Angry People Trigger Me
Angry people trigger me
I am terrified of them,
pushing myself into a tight ball
sliding into the cracks between the floorboards

I cannot get away fast enough
They might as well be carrying machine guns
and machetes and hatchets and hammers
my body shrivels up and dies

I slide into a place I do not fit
trying to get away before the blood bath
always expecting to be the first one mangled and killed...

No Incentive
I go down to be the first in a race I could not win
No inducement.
To run for the fun of running is where others find
Enticement.
To have no prize to spur the effort, for encouragement
No reason.
To break my back and strain my heart to find winning
Out of season.
But to sit and watch, as the slow run withers all fiber of
My compassion.
Pity shrivels my heart and does not reverb, for it is
Off fashion.
And still I must run....

My Love
My love is like a flower, it grows, it flourishes, it thrives, it shrivels up and dies.
New seeds fall and sprout new pods, these pods meet and take the odds.
I’ll bet my heart away each day and wait for the one who’ll take me away.
Grace said how can you? But I can, you see, it’s a part of me.
I can’t explain it so, it’s such a mock, I suppose that’s my woe.
I’ll keep searching for my only hope, who’ll help me work out my place in this world....

Rusalka
She flickers in the borderland
In the mirror and the marsh
 Sparkling like the morning dew
 On a grateful corpse

 In the bog her murmuring
 The echo of a cry
 Travels on the plaintive wind
 Like a phantom sigh

 The merest of a semblance
 Shadowed by the moon
In the murk appears to flirt
 Behind the sinking dunes

Like an orphan of the sea
Or a widow of the sands
She shrivels in the noon day sun
 Glimmering in strands

A Good Bye
Wave
Wave away the salt ridden distress
Your breath slides down the sinking pit within you
A quicksand of hungering wants
Fangs bared, coarse tongue whipping out
No mothers breast
Only your unclaimed breath

A veil
Mountainous
Your lungs, in your chest, near your heat, thump, you feel it
A sea of pressure
Unrelenting, wave after wave battering this virgin shore
White buds wilt
Red heart shrivels, a raisin
The shrinking shadow
Waves

Death, His Friend He Must Embrace
Back bent,
Spine protruding from withered figure,
His face a creeping shadow,
Scattering, revealing pale ghost beneath,
Breathing eerier croaks from dark fathoms within,
Lips parched,
A bumpy mess of scales,
His eyes dug deep within the shrivels of his face,
Reflecting with joy his distant youth,
Quivering lost paper in wind,
As those lips part one final time,
No one listens to his great last words,
Expecting him to quietly slip away with grace,
Death his friend he must embrace....

Dead Boy's Poem
As my tears turn red, my cuts are deep sorrow and anguish fill my soul. My essence, my life's blood drains away as my wrists, cry for you.

No longer do I feel pain as my life drains away, this withered husk, shrivels up and blows away no longer do I feel pain.

Tears of red night into day, as my life's blood drains aways now on the path to decay thought of you wither and die today. As my tears turn red I welcome this day my cuts are deep, the pain is ending on the path to decay....

Karma
Fresh entity deceived me of late;
I faltered forward upon jagged toes.
My soul was once an open gate,
now drawn shut to ward off hate.
Betrayed by the aroma of sweet repose,
then pricked and left by mistaken rose.
Her stem bleeds bitter. Having tasted pain,
she has spurned felicity.
Lying in wait to parch the soil,
oblivious to her own demise,
her karma has led to clearer skies.
Forthwith sweet Mother earth embroiled,
nimiety of roots dried and spoiled;
she shrivels up and dies....
