Fa, la, la,
the politicians stump.
Blah, blah, blah,
It's Donald Trump.
Oh La la, we've hit a bump.
Shangri-La or Mein Kampf?

Raw Ten Luck

A peacock in old Shangri-La
Found his wherewithal did not thaw
He went by the book
So his feathers shook
But aroused his mother-in-law

Premium Member Shangri-La

I wish my love a peaceful Shangri-La
Where I can save her best from daily cares.
A warm place where winter never dares
And my heart smiles to serve as in a spa.

Kelp Me With This Won'T You

A young mermaid from old Shangri-La
Had a Math quiz --- right after her spa
So she thought, “What to wear,
That will make the boys stare?”
Then she picked out her best algae-bra!

visualizing nirvana and Shangri-la
in dreams that take me away
include pink waterfalls and a floating moon
she has warm waters for swimming
with natural healing springs
my meditation intact

Be Tolerant

That sorrow may grow
To purify your soul
Be tolerant be cool
That's a price you pay
A cost to get higher flow
In truth, this life is really too short life
Comparing to the infinite Shangri-La life

Premium Member She Steps Into His Arms Gladly

His spider web eyes
Delicious amber caramelized
Persuasively lively
Quick with playfulness
Surrounding with curiosity
Open to suggestions
Offering her Shangri-lah
She steps into his arm gladly
Eager to begin her forever dance

You Can See Too Far

High in the Himalayas a dreamt of - our Shangri- La
Exquisite yearning desires become emotional realities

Ignore it or give yourself up to it like a Holy Man

The wind never stops blowing and the air is so clear
I think you can see too far

Premium Member our shangri la

we climbed a barbed wire farm fence
falling into brambles that scratched us up
suddenly we were in a meadow
with tiny wild strawberries, daisies, violets, iris and queen anne’s lace
we’ll take it, we told the realtor
a Shangri-la which we still love

Premium Member Lost Shangri-La

lost,
remote
shangri-la;
peaceful eden
razed by mother nature and father time.
the paradise we once knew, so far gone;
it will return
only if
you come
back.

Ingenio's Lair

What genius can thus inspire,
the mind will never know

It takes more than a thought conceived,
to go where visions go

Angkor Wat or Taj Mahal,
we only stand in awe

And wish to go from whence they came

Lost and Unclaimed

Standing in
baggage-claim,
watching belongings
go round again
waiting for something
that will never come,
an army of strangers
grab their bags and run
leaving me distant
adrift and alone,
as the carousel stops
—my location unknown

Come with me to my Shangri-La
      My satin, azure, kimono
floating in soft waves across the
      floor

Don' t hesitate for a second
      You'll find majestic delights herein
      Jasmine tea, and mandarin, me
Our yet to be Shangri-La ecstasy

Premium Member Cancer Leads To Mama

Dual roads to Shangri la
Painted with optimism
External flame keeps them
Perpetually lit and hopeful

Child with rainbow ideals
Leaves this earthly plane
By reason of cancer
Arrives at this heavenly paradise

Enveloped quickly in comforting arms
Saturated with purest mother love
Moonlight smiles in the distance
At their spiritual reuniting

Premium Member Her Imagination Brings Joy

Ethereal universe refreshes her sorrowful mind
Kaleidoscopic sun spins joy into pyramid’s mystical auras
Her world is now beyond the veil, a quintessential state
Nirvana and Shangri-La; she merges it in her dream state
Understanding a joy and enthusiasm most will never encounter
Thanks to an imagination that allows her to forever reinvent her world.

In a Perfect World

A perfect world would be Paradise,
Global peace, bliss more than nice,
Collective communion of one human soul,
A garden of Eden, as in days of old,
Elysian Fields would be Heaven on Earth,
True Shangri-La, for what it's worth,
Equitable Peace, one human hand,
Friendly faces, our true dream land,
A perfect world would be Paradise
Global Peace, bliss more than nice.

Neverland merges with Happily Ever After
I discover my own unique self-made Shangri--La
Reveling South Pacific’s Bali Hai
Verdant grasses, gorgeous crepe myrtles, ripe peach trees
Amid gorgeous colors not easily seen in this dimension
Nirvana, I feel amazed and awed by your grace and exquisiteness.
As beautiful and fertile place as I have ever imagined prior to today.

Shangri-La

SHANGRI-LA
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS

I longed for Elysium, in an unending search
I longed to join the chorus in Eden’s church
To bath in the warmth of an idyllic pool
To jump with joy like an unburdened fool
Combing the seas n heavens to no avail
Shangri-la was elusive, yet I refused to fail
Looking outward I could not reach my goal
Shangri-la resides in every mans soul

Premium Member A Search For Shangri-La

Atop highest cliffs there stands a monastery
Surely nirvana's nucleus of timelessness
Determined come what may in spite of breathlessness
I'll touch its celestial gardens of harmony
Craving kind Himalayan hospitality
My soul in uphill climb pursues euphoria
Seeking mystical mythical utopia
Mountains sing the praises of immortality
