Martyr
Autumn declines and the Lover falls
Heroes die and duty calls
Martyrs are men who have lost it all
fighting senselessly in political brawls...

Premium Member Senselessly Seeking
Insatiable shadows
senselessly seeking
spiritual sainthood.
Stealing……….
shiny symbols
staged senses
swaggering sanities.
Insurmountable sorrow.

This Lifeless Tot -- Florida
an innocent child,
a nineteen-month-old baby,
was senselessly shot;

cold drive-by shooter
killed a cherished little boy--
with a heartless plot

endless tears of pain--
as we remember the love
of this lifeless tot

*baby was not the intended target...

Premium Member Semi Anger - Show Me the Anger Contest
Driving smoothly
Down the road
Peaceful and free
Nowhere to go
To my right I see
I semi coming closer
No signal if you please
And over he goes
Right in front of me
Just inches away
I steam up senselessly
I burn inside, no way
Did he just do that
Oh, I’m so ticked off...

He Needs Not To Entice Us
Mankind is a vicious creature,
senselessly slaughtering its own
flesh and blood.
The Devil,
upon his throne,
laughs and pours
his red wine.
Mother Earth, she does tremble,
from the raging war of Man,
and the violence of their guns.

*Inspired by Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses"...

Premium Member Overwhelmed By Brutal Workday
lay clothes fall, hit the bedroom floor,
as do those indentured servants bound to my chest.
yawning tears puddle, blur optical lenses,
amble senselessly toward the cookies and chips.
denial as blinds open and close near tv set.
chills before wine sets in and cozy socks settle the argument.

Delirious desires cackle
     while spectres whirl
          senselessly
On oceans' savage sway
     blankets drenched
          delusion
Humane hands, soft
     spoken words
          strengthen
Fickle health, a seesaw
     feeds erratic mind
          with despair

Something old, something blue,
Aged not old, a odd pairing,
which unfits the mold.
Taste acquiring,
pungent smell,
putrid looks,
uninspiring.
It is the dare that begs one to love it.
One good sense of five ain't too bad,
When you hold your nose,
close your eyes
and taste it,
breathlessly,
senselessly,
there's the rub....

Earth In Distress
Impact on earth
Of our progress
It is leading
The earth in distress.

Our offerings
Natures sufferings
Our cultures
Ending vultures.

Why are we?
So much selfish
Cursing every ocean
Senselessly killing fish.

Are we here to appear
For other species to disappear
This isn't only our planet
Or nature to destroy us in moment.

Premium Member Wandering
thrust into
the game of life
no map
no directions
no hand to hold
alone and lost
naïve and always short
wandering and hallucinating
aimlessly senselessly
days to nights
weeks to years
where does it all lead
what does it all mean
the hurt the pain
the illusions
when does it all stop
this hurting those along
our own troubled journey
