Premium Member Rising above

Rising above
self-pity
I restore myself
from the grief and sorrow
of a long life
to reestablish
the me
I used to be

Warm Jam

made myself
a promise
no more men for me
then in a moment of self-pity
your smile was there
spreading hope over me
like warm jam

Self Pity Party

we made ourselves lonely on purpose to befriend their egos so they could recuse us from our self built imprisonment just to do it all over again

Premium Member Self-Pity

I’ve dug this hole too deep,
Laying here, and all I can do is weep.
Soothing sympathy is a rare thing for me
As I cry tears of sorrow and empathy.

Premium Member Some Days

Some days it just doesn't go
Often when it rains or snows...

Storm clouds gather in the skies of my brain
Releasing rivers of self-pity and pain

Wife

Self-pity is my mistress and my muse.
Her softness is erotic and sublime,
And later when she vampires all my time
I’ll bid her leave. But she’ll refuse.

Spot Very Tight

Caught yourself in a spot very tight?
No way out, no one else in sight
Wallow in self-pity
Or think and be witty
Doesn’t matter the route, be mighty and fight

Premium Member Come Back Tomorrow

Just not up for it today
Please excuse me, but no way

Tell the fellow to go away and come back tomorrow
~ Another opportunity drowned in self-pity and sorrow

Depression Is

Some savor living distressed; love dejection-Munchausen syndrome
accustomed to attention, adoration; playing-victim- energy vampires

self-esteem
      unfolds,
pillars
     crumble
       ..unseen-
shattered..
           desire
           frittered away
in self-pity..
         leaked
         into life's abyss
of
tears

The Unmoved

I am a disaster,
wallowing in self-pity.
Delusions strong,
paranoia in overdrive.
I am stalemate.
Stagnant.
Watching life pass,
and I cannot move.
No dreams, nor nightmares.
Life hurts.

Checkmate.

You Either Make It Happen

You either make it happen
Or you chase a better opportunity
The one thing you do not want to do
Is drown in self-pity
Now is the time
To get it together
Make something of yourself
Get at it and do better

Premium Member Loneliness Is a Stale Donut

Loneliness is a stale donut
Forgotten and left in box
For how many days now?
How many days!
Takes as self-pity
Eating the donut it tastes like pain
And sickness rising in my throat
For I remain and the box I throw out

Fighting

This has not been the greatest day. I cannot make my worries go away. For what the answer to my question is, I will fight because I want to live. I will not weep in self pity or sorrow. I will shed light for better tomorrow.

I Miss My Yellow

Red tears,
And black filled fears,
Of all the harrowing years,
I held in my diseased heart.

Does my excruciating soul even know?
How deep my self pity flows?
How much my torture grows?
When will my yellow really start?
Form: Rhyme

Love Chemistry

Love Chemistry...

I dive deep in your ocean blue eyes
In pursuit of pearls of emotions,
Ego,
Self-pity,
Pride,
All dissolved on the way...

I the solute,
You the solvent

WE the solution of Love...

Testing Hope

moments test us
months possess us
days go by in etched fog of illness
too clear to be a lesson
no time for self pity

moments of zero pain
make the heart sing
restore possibility
almost opens the future

cautiously, I test hope

Premium Member Conceited Love

What ills you elicit with your mordacious tongue
shackled am I, while you trifle with my love.
You horde my affections with a cartridge of conceit
then loiter in self pity as I, wizened, exit with relief.

Stray

She was a wanderer
A ferrel stray
An awkward blunder
A grave mistake

Living in shadows
Sensitive to light
Unable to grow
In the dark of night

Full of self pity
The saddest story of all
Nothing more than a kitty
Too proud to crawl
Form: Rhyme

That Night

Tears are etched into my face and pillow
In the mirror I see and in self pity I wallow
Memories return from that of last night
To put it simply, the events still cause quite a fright
Put in more complex version
It was a hellish mental excursion
Form: Rhyme

Life

If life kicks you when you're down,
don't lie down and die,
pull yourself up off the ground
and punch life in the eye.

Don't wallow in self pity
and think that life's futile.
Always strive to do your best
and make your life worthwhile.
Form: Rhyme

Faded Memory

How can something once so precious be lost so easily
Nary an argument
Not even the softest of whispers
My world is filled with such shadows
