Black Lotus

Sanguine souls melted, In last confessions of death As flames of crimson, Draped their souls in lithe petals Of a black, gold-lined lotus.

The imagery in your tanks is so vivid and such a clever use of words to express what you see... An excellent tanka which uses a great choice or word pairings to give it the right impact, a lot like your butterfly poem.. you describe both so well..

A truly powerful new creation my friend. Imagery that casts darkness in a devilish blacken glow. Such to be there in such a short piece takes true poetic talent. A fav.. God bless you.

Hello, Hiya! Your ability to craft words in a breathtakingly poetic manner never fails to astound me. The emotions that effortlessly flow through each line are so profound that only those with profound intellect can truly understand and appreciate them. It explores the profound subject of death, with souls delicately adorned in graceful petals, presenting an original and profoundly creative perspective.

Ooh, sounds deliciously scary. Last confessions of death? Crimson flames? To quote from a Black Sabbath song, "Satan laughing spreads his wings..." I know there is a mythos surrounding the lotus. Not familiar with black lotus but sounds ominous. I'll have to Google it lol

Your tankas are always so beautiful and deep and depicts so much in few glistening words that would take readers mind away to a place so vast. How sanguine souls melt , in confessions such as death, you’ve conveyed that so well here. I also loved “ flames of crimson” and that last line “ black gold lines lotus” whoa! You amaze me with the way you weave words in such sheer poetic eloquence. Anyone with a deep mind can comprehend the emotions flowing through those lines seamlessly. Loved it!
