Roost
Would you rather be either very uncouth or untrue,
When having not yet realizing whom secretly rues,
While you are trying oh so hard above all else to rule the roost?...

Empty Mothers

For every lonely child
lost to love,
an empty mother rues
her fruitless days

Empty mothers
cry in the sun.
Lonely children
long to dance.

Premium Member The Party Is Over
Invited, she waits with hands on doorknob,
hears her boyfriend talk inside, she eavesdrops.
She rues not being clever,
for her party is over,
for she knows he is a deceiving snob.

He Was Not There
Not coming, long gone,
Accused of loving,
Precariously balancing,
On a shelf, an oven.

Christians and atheists,
Will swap one day,
When people will sway,
To the music of anti-theists.

No bribery, no rues,
Just with love, trust,
And with a life lust,
We’ll get our dues....

72 and a Half Edited
I'm 72.5
How many more years will I have in this life?
5? Hopefully 8.
What then?
Purgatory to wash away my rues?
Or maybe another dimension

Where past meets future
And the same life repeats itself
But this time corrected
From all the regrets of this life.

Will it be a leap into nothingness?
No, I believe in somethingness
In the afterlife....

Tarnished tracks of thought converge at dead end unknown, frozen time in tunnel rusts on scarlet scale of past, stilled present disowned, rues in blue.

Premium Member Reign of Change
Hands hold, faces face
Eyes embrace, distance dissolves
Time stops, love lingers.

Hands hang, faces warp
Eyes glare, bridges burn
Past crashes, time aborts.

Minds mangle, hearts abrade
Egos blaze, identity incinerates
Pledges perish, bonds break.

Road deserted, journey desolate
Present pines, future forlorn
Change reigns, time rues.

Lurch
Scrolls raked along
the crevices;
limits of a breath
patched, thick.

Chiseled down the
rumbling bark,
brimming loops,
cross road nooks of
trembling passion,
scorching rues.

A crumpled hearth
of perpetual dormancy.
Raw upon the
lisping drones of the
bamboo,
broader than the
clearest black,
an influx- grim, vivid;
cryptic on
morsels of my
slumber, dampened
ears...

Flashes of detached
voices, intuitions;
monotonous as this
tread-
a lurch; different
yet whole....
