A Button On Her Blouse

I'm a button on her blouse
       roundabout chest-high

Today she cursed because I burst
though her guy's eyes opened wide

Convoluted Story

skirting issues
in roundabout ways
mysterious and baffling
deliberately foggy

See

Epigram #271:
SEE

Discern and see the journey route,
Truth and beauty in roundabout.

Roundabout

New York Christians, Muslims, and Jews
Claim they walked a mile in God's shoes
As you may surmise
When asked for the size
They say they went barefoot like youse!

Dream

Sleep to dream,
Dream to sleep,
Round it goes,
Like a roundabout,
Sleep to dream,
Dream to sleep,
Continues through the night,
Dreams not remembered,
Each night they come,
So it starts again,

Rednecks and Roundabouts

Rednecks and roundabouts, they don't mix.
Don't try and fool us with your media tricks.
We drive around the back roads throwing bottles at signs.
Your roundabouts make us slow down or the ladies spill their wine

Roundabout

Here not there
You know where

In a fix
A blunt mix

Cuts flame slash
Harsh words smash

Bits of flesh
Ooze like trash

Blood red pain
Life now drains

Solomon's Cloak

Truth is not an absolute
but an attitude of commitment
Throwing its blanket decidedly
over questioning and doubt
Paying deference to the moment
while blessing its intention
Choices made and choices bade

Cat At Reece Fair After Hours

After hours, Maud, ginger cat,
Goes through O in fence:
No nonsense.

Goes to roundabout,
And sits there on still car.
Becomes calm...

Tail around,
She does not study her environment.
She is like a totem as she waits for silver dawn.

The Playground At Dawn

The playground at dawn,
so quiet and still,
with no hint that anything could move.

Still swings;
a roundabout covered with frost,
a seesaw with no child.

No dogs at that time;
no cats - they must be somewhere else;
no hint of later on.

Under the Radar

Beneath the dark blue veil
Of a moonless midnight
Under the radar
Without a bleep
A camouflaged whisper
Mystifies and mortifies
In a most roundabout
Conniving way
A shiver shudders
A murderous mystery
Not leaving a hint or clue

Star-Dreams

Dreams like stars,
born out of foam.
Loneliness and desire,
lights of confidence,
sparkling, crystals of fantasy,
gemstones of remembrance,
before my eyes,
dreams like stars
passing me,
slowly,
full of symbols,
colourful
in the roundabout of time,
clouds are drawing circles.

Satin Summer

Satin summer sundays.
With the young children.
Picnicking in the shade
Nana takes them to swim.

Watching while they play.
There growing so big.
Those memories we've made.
Are, a most treasured gift.

Sewsaws and swings.
The roundabout spins.
As we reminisce.
Upon satin summer bliss.

I Cannot Not Be Me

I am determined to be me no matter what happens
No matter who throws a fit
No matter what catastrophe rears her ugly head
No one can talk me out of it

Some strangers have tried
In a roundabout way
Trying to talk me into being more like them than me
It amuses me, but I do not get their phone numbers.

She Ventured Out Into the Stars

She ventured out into the stars
Though a stranger to their realm
Bright lights flashing roundabout her
   Would perhaps they overwhelm

This sweet young maiden, fair but frail
   Who'd braved the nighttime skies
Who'd quit the Earth, for there she'd felt
That all Hope for Life and Light had died

Norwich

Back during World War 11 -
written on the backs of envelopes
NORWICH
reveals our parent’s were quite, naughty too.
In a roundabout way, saying,“Get ready to screw”-
I never had a clue; Mum knew
“kNickers Off Ready When I Come Home”.
I thought NORWICH- was where Dad was located.
Handy ACRONYM sadly outdated

Funnelled Vision

Listen to poem:
Envision if you will
how your tunnel vision
denies sharing, context and scope.
Your ambit roundabout whirls in blinkers
denies entry with right-of-way blocks
as you go round and round
spinning endlessly in the dark
on a roundabout game in the park.
Your circumspect vision funnelled
down tunnel into your black id hole.

A Poem -002

A poem is a way,

A subtle , golden path-

From soul to the heart,

from heart to the head,

from head to the nerves,

from nerves to the blood,

from blood to the tips,

from tips to the nib,

from nib to the paper and

finally

from paper to the reader's soul

in the roundabout way.

Such is indeed a poem.

Sam Adams Drunk Driver Same, Same But Different

Sam Adams Drunk Driver Same, Same but Different

Sam Adams was drunk driving
Too fast down an English rural country lane
He ran at a stoplight he did not see
Blew threw a roundabout
Was rubbed out in an accident.
His drinking buddy, the traffic cop flatfoot,
Smoothed over his death ruling it an accident,
And not drunk driving.

Spectator's Soliloquy

Vacant mind filled with vacuous thoughts,
he is diabolical,makes me disconcerting.
Many a time we have fought a lot,
when things were going south,
on his terms I took the roundabout.
Going circles I never realized,
he led me on a rabbit trail,
I made it far, escaped the static, ecstatic,
but he left me at a place no one's ever tread.

CHANCES ARE

elements
of
a whole

different
  each time
played
  recorded
impressed
or
 created

improvised
ideas
  thoughts
of the moment
unique
  unrepeatable
aleatory
features

 improvised
   fragments
to introduce
  variability
of
short patterns
 without
coordination
a blur
of
 possibilities
on
a
roundabout
of chance

Roundabout

Feel surge
Of words found
Prompt urge
That seeds ground

Touch gains
Fond new grounds
Old pains
Now hurl sounds

Heed gall
A prized bite
That's all
Verse now cites

Glimpse jest
Sweat old tact
Words test
Pique vain act

Start well
In jazz bold
Spill tell
Hot and cold

The Runway

THE RUNWAY

A sea of cars
Riding on my back
Abroad, intensified with speedy tires
Lubricant, passengers of thought

Bolded signs of ‘U’ turn
Too shabby to understand
On a straight road with
No roundabout

Only then, stirring to the wheels
Into a burning bush of no flames
Dumped in the garage of animal homes
Eat me up, if that will help

Important Portents

Clawing out from humanity
No jigsaw fits my shape
Important portents
Shamefully misled
The tear from the stone that never bled
Phoenix trapped within a mirrored prism
watching every death
Resignation accepted
The stadium packed with the bodies
of warring thoughts
Goofy toothed roundabout
beckons forth my silken course
deny the empty source

Brazen Glory

Your dazzling light
Kept shining brightly
Absorbing all the terrestrial grace
Roundabout you
Adorning your grace
As a crown
Placed by heaven itself
here you stood
Towering high amidst the scarlet meadows
Mocking the modern beauties
With the woven silks of ancient sages
Brazen trails with colourful glory
Ye sat majestically
Clad in glorious wonders
