Hand

Clench mine and sense it
Never release if unsure
Feel every moment
Feel every scar and roughness
Until you feel satisfied

Sand

Rigid tan crystals
impacted when wet.
Roughness that can scratch
upon flesh when dry.

Cosmic fun on beaches
pleasures foundation.

Discourse For Rough And Soft

Not everything that is rough is bad
And soft is good
Remember the roughness of the grate is useful
While the softness of the moss
Can bring you down.

Unnecessary Roughness

Here lies Emmett Kermit Lavender Whose time was summarily cut short When he insulted his English professor With an unnecessarily caustic retort

Conch Shell

I feel the shell’s roughness in my hand
Yet cool as the ocean water
before I plucked it into the suns warmth.
lifting it to my ear, I hear
the oceans waves break upon the shore,
Is this an echo of life within the murky depths?
I wonder…

Justice

Show me justice
when none exist
allow my course to lead you
my journey has been dark
The roughness of my being speaks
in silence
my voice is heard
my actions speak
 My past will redeem me
it must break through to the future
it must vindicate me

You

It’s the little things I love the most.
The beauty marks on your skin,
The roughness of your face,
The way your hair curls in the back.
And it’s these little things,
These little, so little things,
That I will always remember.
Forever, in my mind,
Undying.

Hand and Hand

I see an old couple strolling hand and hand
With smiles as bright as the sun shine
It reminds me of how we use to be
When I could feel the roughness of your
over worked hands intertwined with mine
As we stroll I no longer feel the roughness
Only the breeze of the wind blowing through
my empty hand

Thorns and Colors

Solid and sharp
Dense and clear
Emotional change
Warm without touch
Touch with pain
Brightness that sting
Sting with a brush
Smooth with roughness
Shape without forms
Growth that is green
An aim for brightness
A fineness that rivals
Claws with sight
Drips when pulled
Hardens when dried
Textured with time

Cruel Man

Cruel man
As I ask for best.
As I get the least.
As I want flower.
As I get thorn.
As I want smiley.
As I get finicky.
As I ask kindness.
As I get roughness.
As I crave for u.
As I ‘m away from u.
As it’s nothing more.
As it’s nothing less.
As it’s from heart.
As it’s innocent.
Friends always!
As it’s nothing more.
As it’s nothing less.

The Coming of the African Star

The pouring of the rain
The sound of the thunderstorm
The blowing of the wind
The roughness of the ocean
What is been done cannot be reversed
What is been reversed cannot be done

The movement of the land
The tears of the universe
The clustering of the sun
The sentiments of the planets
What is been said cannot be unsaid
What is been unsaid cannot be said

Waterfall of Love

The love that flows in You
cascades out and all about;
I try to capture that love
with eager, open arms --
every day at your waterfall.
The rush of your love is felt
like pristine water against rock;
each moment in loving You
polishes the roughness of me.
I forever desire to be drenched...
at your waterfall of love.

Eyebrows

I sense some roughness, grey hairs strew
jagged eyebrows, jagged view
Lord, let me sense the pure of you
and all forsaken, is brand new!

A line now centered, frown's adieu
a grimace bent ~ toothless review
unholy glaring at construe
what made this fetished look of stew!

Some troubles notice, worries mew
a smile could hasten face's renew!
Oh, heart please chasten, comfort true
this look replace, with hope's redo!

Rough Edges

Rough Edges

We will make you a diamond
of great price
smooth the roughness
of nature’s edges
cut away hard grit
of centuries
expose your
“weakness””
erase the facets
of your being
cut deeply
hard angles,
reflections need
basking
in false façade.

Would that you
had remained
a diamond in the rough
uncut
just another
beautiful stone
unmindful
of your presence.

Island of One

Dreaming of past gills:
Quiet galaxy around
Bubbles hold my life...

Schools of shadows swim...
I am not an alien here
Mermaids do exist...

Ecolocation
Travels finding your soul near -
Coral in exile...

My fins caress you...
A stranger in your roughness
So suffocating...

Tsunamis of Soul
Reminding me of my lungs...
Refusing to drown...

Shipwrecked but alive
Secrets buried under blue
I KNOW I'll be LOVED!

I Know

The brightness of the sun
The closeness of the sea
The roughness of the wind
The softness of the sand

The tales that were told
The scrolls that were written
The ancient things that were seen
The liars that were formulated

The knowledge of knowing
The sympathy of a mercy
The happiness of falling
The humour of humanity

The eagerness of a person
The readiness of a dream
The reviveness of a season
The togetherness of a world

Tiny Pebbles

Tiny pebbles are strewn around the
gravel road, like forgotten thoughts uncounted
half-chewed, littered along the wayside, ah! disorder!
The most constant of nature’s laws!
Still, each of them dreams in time of being pressed
into a statue to the gods, to be a Stone of the Highest Order
but each must count himself lucky every time
a passing child stoops to feel the gray roughness in his hands
to them, to whom anonymity seems guaranteed,
remembrance is enough.

Voice of Nkporo

The voice echoes from the beginning
It is gradually fallen down.
When would that Land be remembered for favour?
More than one hundred and fifty years of existence
The roads still cry and roughness feasted on it.
The dust welcome us home during Christmas
IT coloured our lips when we never need lipstick.
We have but only one voice speaking in the crowded street
Nkporo should be visited like other homes.
We need a touch to redefined the excellence spirit of the traditions.

Imagine Such a Place

Imagine a place
Where no discrimination exists
Where there is no topic of color or race

Imagine a place
Devoid of judgment and despair
Devoid of criticisms, differences, and nasty glares

Imagine a place
That doesn’t compare
The way we walk and what we wear
In this place, it does not matter
The texture of smoothness or roughness of hair

In such a place, all would be fare
In knowing that the root is the commonality we share
that will always connect us to the skin we bear
