Poison

Your words spoken
are like liquid poison
dripping from crevices of your mouth
falling into mine as we kiss
poison slowly oozing down my throat
restricting air

Metronome

metronome

keeping me in perfect precision
with the demands
of the world
to conform

to stay
in the restricting confines
of this awkward box

while the
world
twirls

Unnerved

Desires and hopes are strong
When plunging into a task headlong
always fear of failure comes along
Restricting us ,for fulfillment we long.

Fear is a slinking cat Is find beneath the lilacs of my mind.

Duality of Life

The virus lives
where is it?
Controlling my actions
what can I do?
Do not touch
where are my gloves?
Restricting my movements
where can I go?
Seizing my lifestyle
where is my freedom?
Monopolizing my space
What do I think?

Deep

The intricate twisting of knots,
Restricting the ability to move and breathe–
Freely.
Surrounding us daily–
Tying us into dependency,
When we don’t need it–
Or do we?
Is that why we can’t move?
Will the ropes release us if we accept the truth?

We are only what we are…
The knots begin to loosen.

The Road Down

Tomorrow left abandoned
with every choice I make
Constricting all potential joy
and limiting my fate
Each short term indecision
restricting unrestrained
My future playing out of tune
a timed and dull refrain
Most often I have missed it
when no outweighs a yes
For temporal gain my judgment strained
—an orphan in regress

Deluge of Despondency

Rain pounding my soul in torrents

Feelings of despair overwhelming
A band around my heart restricting flow

Non-existent love in a world deplete of compassion
Harried existence to a futile end of unacknowledged achievements
A specter in the streets of humanity

Can you see me, hear me, touch me?
I cry alone but I cry for all.

Despair pounding my soul in torrents

Congress

I hear their almighty roar!
Lions pontificating on the Senate floor.
I see wolves prowling the House chamber;
Howling to create a national anger;
Media circus masters have them controlled,
In the big tent they’ve both extolled.
Matters not who is in the majority;
Expanding authority, always the priority;
Acts restricting freedom and prosperity;
Do not represent my constituency;

Hallway Heartbeats

This feeling for you is growing
But nothing is worse than knowing
The emotion I may be showing
Is going to give me away

I'm scared that you may be suspecting
The dots you may be connecting
When my emotions are disconnecting
My hearts beats with no second delay

Your attention becomes so addicting
As I should have been predicting
But my heart is very restricting
It knows it gets hurt this way

Swimming In the Moonlight

When swimming in the moonlight In a warm, secluded place No need of a restricting bathing suit, Since there’s no one else in sight Relax and enjoy the solitude, Bathed in soft glow of moonbeams Meditate on nature’s finest gifts And revel in your heart’s delight, Not so often available, it seems Take time to explore your dreams.

Underserved

Imposed love of debt
Seeking soulful releases
Empowering self through lies
Abusive ways masked in gifts
While wounds are healed
So eyes no longer see
Internally embedded as deserved
Becoming self inflicted
Thoughts taught to believe
Brought upon self
Undeserved of a better love
He holds the Key
Of a torture-some beat
Held in his hands
Squeezed of blood flow
Restricting all vessels
In a vegetative state
Oxygen gone

Stasis

It’s quiet in here
Almost completely silent
All I can hear is the dying mechanical hum
of whatever’s barely keeping me alive

I’m suspended in something
Much like liquid
but far more restricting

My eyes are burning
So I keep them closed
And it’s that much less pain I feel

It takes all I have
To reach out and touch the glass
And wonder what’s out there
Wonder what I’m missing

If I’ve got to stay here my entire life
Then what’s the point of....living?

Taboo

In life so much is such a taboo,
too many things you ought not to do.
Do them anyway, just for the thrill,
right from the heart,
your soul,
your will.
People may gasp,disgust, dismay.
That'll just increase the secrets we play.
Wont be told what's right or wrong,
the world's just singing to a different song.
So, lay down the law, judge, criticise,
with your narrow minds and tiny eyes.
I wont abide by your restricting law,
I'll live my life, 'till there is no more

How To Praise a School Child

Don’t a school child give marks
It would be bold to despise:
The same thing as letting sharks
Acquire their teeth thrice!

You’re praise of kids to elicit sparks
That should ignite just the spice:
Where the child’s bicycle parks
Restricting others with a thrown dice
When the child begins to sing like larks
And you serving it streaming rice.
The Good Dog sure barks
After every reckless price …

So does many a docile child
By beginning to act wild.

Writing

With my thinking cap on
sometimes too tight
restricting thoughts
or words to write.

Inside my head
a jumbled mess
frustration reins
I must confess.

The words must rhyme
or maybe not
a stitch in time
solutions sought.

Paper drafts
lay everywhere
of idea's cast off
for which I did not care.

Much time is given
for words just right
a poem well written
is now in sight.

The stage is set
time to prepare
with words arranged
I now can share.

Healing In Motion

Open minded progress determines the path.
Unlike years of mental numbness quieting the laugh.
A breath of fresh air as it cleanses the soul
Erases the emptiness obstructing the goal
A magical world for me to explore
No ties that bind restricting thoughts like before
Brightness invades all the moods once left dark
Putting an end to the misery so the healing can start
No more will I anchor my mind in the sorrow
Choices I make today paves the path to tomorrow

The Man Who Refused Water

I had a glass of water
I gave it to you,
And you splashed it all over me
Because you believe
You'll taint the water
Or the water will cease to be water
If it's given to you
So you choose to remain parched
Skin dry, lips cracked, hair brittle
It's plain to see you're thirsty
You crave that water
But you'll never take it
And I can't help but think you're foolish
For denying yourself
For restricting yourself from happiness
And salvation from man

Behind the Wall

Willfully erected..obstructing..
    emotional velocity halted..
Armor.. imprisoning..
    safe and secure.. spiritless..
Layers of pain.. eclipse
    and enclose..restricting ..
Languish not behind the wall..
surrender to the magnitude of emotion..
Escape the enchantment of safety..
    passions unleashed.. fireworks erupting
Delight in the wonder of Love..
thrill to the sensations of life!
~ rejoice as the bricks tumble..
~ shout as the wall falls....

Artic Air Assassin

Blowing through my area for a few days
gust making temperature bitterly cold
rushing underneath my coat; soo bold
penetrating my layers of clothing and boots
siphoning my body natural warmth
hands throbs with pain; gloves no help
feet and face froze noticeably numb
leg bones stiffening as I continue to step
restricting my singing and dancing blood flow
left me feeling empty, cold, and stiff head to toes
wondering, "are you trying to steal my heart and soul?"

Cravings

Cravings cause our souls to lie
To become possessed by our possessions

    They drive us
    Restricting any peace

Reduce and simplify all things
Aligning them to our conditions

    They’re a robe, richly colored
    A garment for our minds

Enveloping our sense of reality
Unfeeling, cheap costume coverings

    Their very nature, deception
Pretending to be what we’re not

A self inflicted blindness
Blocking the reason for our lives
