new year's resolutions...tiptoeing through the landmines ritual.
Monoku2: New Year contest
by Silent One.
New Year almost here
resolutions all around
this coming year is different
folks are determined
I can do this so they say
So: Are you resolute to resolve to resolve to be resolute?
Or: Do your resolved resolutions devolve into dissolution?
As this New Year's celebration evolves
Down your resolutions with resolve
~ Lest they quickly fizzle and dissolve
I have no resolution this year, I never follow them

And so a New Year has begun,
And old resolutions are done,
But whatever you do,
When making them new,
Remember to make them all fun!

Singing Auld Lang Syne,
Cheering and kissing strangers;
Tomorrow, to work.
Comes in with a cheer;
Intentions, resolutions
Forgotten next year.
The prerequisite for any of our earthly resolutions to become a reality is God's gift of life!

A baby appeared on New Year’s Eve
No parents or clothes, if you believe
A top hat and sash
rather bold slapdash
resolute in year's goals to achieve
When in December I make resolutions
I fixate upon vows unkept
Single-handed I topple the Theory of Evolution
For every year I come up inept
New resolutions,
This year, will be different.
They will not fall down.
Weaker ones? No, the why is
That you believe in yourself.

the year unfolds like an
unsealed letter~
its blank pages trembling
under the weight of
resolutions.
Mind to think,
Heart to thank,
Mind is like a ruling party,
Heart is the opposition,
All resolutions by the heart,
Mind in opposition,
Never become solutions!
Release burdens from past
Forgive and forgive myself
Plant positive thoughts
Smile more to others
Live one day at a time

RESOLUTIONS
Year after year we make
List thoughts to change tact
Then in time forsake
Forget to enact

Psychedelic scenery
Elicit blithe resolutions
Television
Brilliant channels
Procreate felicity
Evolution
Crescendos
Ameliorate composure
Termination
Awakening burning scars
in my sternum begin
invading secret strongholds
buried inside my conscience
Struggling and fighting
restless consuming times
to win resolutions
Out with the old an in with the new
As the crowd sang, we’ve got a break-through
They said, their resolutions
And prayed for retributions
While sipping on a New Year’s woo-stew
What shall I resolve to do this New Year?
Why should I even bother or care?
Should I fly to the moon
Eat salad with a spoon
Either one is quite useless, I fear
